Having seen a lot of photos of Angkor Wat, it doesn't disappoint in real life. It is huge and very tall in the centre. The frescos are fantastic and generally in good condition. It does appear to be quite dark in colour possibly a good clean might make it even more fabulous. Climbing the steps to the top was fine in the off season but we understand that in high season the queues can be very long. Not as atmospheric as other temples in the Angkor area but not to be missed. Don't be surprised if any part is under scaffolding as there seem to restoration projects going on all the time.

I went there for the sunrise with a group of friends. The place is obviously crowded with tourists waiting for the sunrise, but they all gather on the left side of the temple and leave the place soon after the sunrise.

The experience is very peaceful after 6.15 - 6.30am when most tourists leave the place. Angkor Wat is a wonderful place, but I highly recommend to spend time visiting other smaller temples.

The best time of the day to come here is during sunrise, where you can see the most amazing view of the angkor temple and, of course, the view of the clouds and the sky. It was truly breathtaking!

Just the most wonderful heritage site. Spent hours exploring and investigating the site Be very careful when climbing over the building as the stairs are very narrow and steep.

This site may be the one of the main reason why tourist come to Cambodia.

The Cambodians didn't put this site's as a logo on the national flag for nothing!
It is Grand! The culture and history behind it is very rich. We got a good tour guide who is very informative. A tour guide is highly recommended so that you can save time in this very big site. You will need to spend at least 3-4 hours in here.

It gives us a understanding of Cambodian's religion. The mythology behind the artwork is fascinating.
We saw a number of monks and worshipers praying to the gods in the temple. It was a very good experience. You haven't been to Cambodia if you did not visit Angkor Wat.
