“Great hotel in Siem Reap.”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

Considering we were in Cambodia, I was pleasantly surprised at the nice facility. The rooms were clean and spacious. Pool was fantastic and we used it often due to the heat. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Computer available for use in lobby. AC worked well. I would stay there again if I traveled to Siem Reap again.

Room Tip: Do not keep food in room due to tiny ants...

There is nothing much wrong this hotel. Its clean, efficiently run and, most importantly, close to the main centre of Siem Reap. Most hotels claim to be in the center of Siem Reap but they are out along the Airport road and sometimes a few kilometers from the centre. This is not a problem if you want to use taxis or tuk tuks but sometimes its nice to stroll into town. The Paradise hotel allows this. Its also a short stroll from the FCC and Victoria Hotel and the Lucky Supermarket.

Minor gripes for me wre the lack of a decent evening menu. What was produced was good, tasty fare but there wasn't a great deal of choice. The breakfasts were OK with plenty of choice.

There is no aircon in the public areas and the wifi is very poor (although it is free).

The room was typical of this sort of hotel: big and cool. There is a safe, TV, freidge and kettle. I think all of the rooms have a balcony.

Room Tip: Try and get a poolside room but be wary that there are often conventions here and the pool is where...

We enjoyed our stay at the Angkor Paradise. The room was quite large, with a big bathroom, great air con, safe deposit box and generally all the things you need. A word of warning is that the mattress is rock hard, but after a long day of scrambling around the Angkor Temples, you'll be tired enough so that the hard bed doesn't matter so much. The staff are lovely and really trying hard to provide great service. They have a nice bar downstairs to enjoy a beer after a long day and we had dinner in the restaurant one night which was basic, but quite good. It's about a 20 min walk to the restaurants of Pub Street (but a fascinating one) or a short Tuk Tuk ride. Despite being located around the pool, the room was actually very quiet. We were being cautious about eating uncooked foods in Cambodia, so breakfast choices were a lilltle more restricted then we perhaps would have liked, but still adequate. There are ritzier hotels (and shabbier ones) in Siem Reap, but Angkor Paradise was a happy medium and I definitely felt like I was staying in Cambodia, rather than a stock, standard brand hotel room you may find anywhere else in the world.

The hotel is quite large and our first impressions were positive. We were traveling with a private guide and had not run into large tour groups, that is, until we stayed at this hotel. Coming down to a lobby filed with people isn't so bad, but stopping in for breakfast as the large crowds are departing leaves much to be desired. The wait staff just couldn't clean up fast enough to make breakfast pleasant and the food was heavily picked over. Our room was very large and reasonably nice and the staff were pleasant. But the positive aspects of our stay were overshadowed by our less pleasant brushes with the large tour groups.

We stayed at this hotel for five days and enjoyed our stay. The staff members were helpful and Pub Street with all its good and bad was only a two dollar tuk tuk away. There was a petrol station a minute away on foot, which had an ATM and a small shop attached to it. Wifi a little patchy in places but worked okay. We appreciated the pool in the middle of the day. Although breakfast was nothing to write home about, there was always fresh fruit and bread, and given the general food standards around Siem Reap, more than adequate. Bedding had a bit of a musty smell - not dried sheet smell, really - which wasn't pleasant, and the aircon controller wouldn't do a thing. We ended up not using the aircon at all. Considering both positive and negative aspects, it was a good value, are we received a significant discount through booking.com.

Stayed here for four nights, and have no regrets whatsoever. Okay, you have to walk for 15-20 minutes if you want go to the Pub Street or Night Marked, but at least it's not noisy. The room was excellent, with all facilities, even wi-fi in the room. The swimming pool was great, the staff was very helpful indeed - I needed to get some printing and scanning done, and they helped me without charging anything. Excellent breakfast, nice lobby bar.

THis is a ""no"" hotel. Mercifully I stayed one night only. They gave me a noisy room when i asked if I could change answer was ""no"" This despite the fact that I was part of a convention and hence knew there were empty rooms. I asked for small change Answer: ""no"" I asked for a box of matches. Answer ""no" The hotel is rather dirty with chipped washbasin in my room, uncomfortable wooden chairs, dodgy hot water. Appalling breakfast, dingy dining areas.
