Victoria Angkor Resort & Spa
Ranked #54 of 361 Hotels in Siem Reap
Certificate of Excellence

We stayed at the Angkor Victoria Resort & Spa for visiting the Angkor Wat Temples. The hotel has this amazing old world charm as soon as you approach. It is far different from the new age hotels of today.

Vintage cars in the driveway, an open air reception area, an old lift with doors that you have to pull to close - that close like a scissors, wooden staircases on both sides, open corridors, typical Cambodian live music - it is all so quaint that you are immediately taken back a 100 years.

The location of the hotel is perfect for Pub Street and to walk about Siam Reap. You cannot beat the location.

The rooms are luxurious - what you would expect from any other 5 star. Though I do wish they would renovate the bathrooms to modern standards. Not that they are not new, but have started showing age.

The food is great. They have live entertainment at night with traditional dances and music. A great way to promote the heritage of your country.

The salt water swimming pool is beautiful with flora surrounding it. It is very thoughtfully designed.

All in all, a gem in a beautiful city.

I love this hotel. Maybe it is the beauty of being surrounded by wood everywhere. Maybe it us the salt water pool. The two great restaurants. Happy hour everyday. It's all this with a compenet staff that smiles and handles every problem.
Regardless of any one reason. I am happy here and will be back again and again.
Oh yes the breakfast buffet is second to none that I have experienced.

This is a lovely little hotel within walking distance of the centre of Siem Reap. Much more convenient than the larger resorts along the roads into the city.
Everything about the hotel was beautifully presented. The pool was very inviting after a hot day sightseeing and the pool staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.
Happy Hour at the lovely poolside bar was a delight and the complimentary snacks were plentiful and delicious.
We had dinner one night in the little French Restaurant. Lovely Food and excellent service.
Loved the little gifts with the Turndown service, eg a cute little bracelet from friends.international.org in support of education for poor Cambodian children.

Enjoyed our time at the resort. It is near the city area, has wonderful staff and amenities and just had a feel of serenity. I had two relaxing massages and we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast (large variety/western/asian). Happy hour was also nice with complimentary snacks (different every night). We also tried the in house bistro restaurant, great lamb chops!, w complimentary wine (not just house wine). My only regret, I did not get a chance to try the beautiful salt water pool. I would definitely go back! Miss it already! Do keep in mind, English is not their first language, so u will have to be patient with the staff. Don't let this decide your stay at the resort. You are after all visiting a different country!

Room Tip: Three floors available, elevator has a rustic feel to it (older open style elevator). If not comfort...

Dear M B,

Thank you very much for your extensive and very kind review; I am glad to hear that you had a thoroughly pleasant stay.

It is a shame you missed out on the pool as I believe it is one of the nicer ones in Siem Reap.

Admittedly, communication is not always straight forward but, as you mentioned, English is not the first language and a little patience is at times required. As an aside: we offer daily English classes to all of our staff.

Should you ever make it back to Siem Reap, please let us welcome you again.

The staff of the hotel were very welcoming and I loved the ambiance too. Also, the rooms were quite huge and it has standard price that for sure everyone can afford. Food is fantastic and I really enjoyed a glass of champagne in every meal. Their pool is very inviting with its blue green color salt water and it is not really cold too. I really enjoyed it even for a few days visit.

I often visited the victoria when working in siem reap for tea or drinks and lashed out this time to stay. Its a friendly place and apparently staff are well treated here by the management, which shows. The ambience is spot on with lovely common areas to relax. The free canapes were great for my hungry child each evening after the temples. The room is a little small, but not a problem. I like a bath, so that suited me. Breakfast is truly outstanding with french pastries and 20 different choices. the best yoghurt ever tasted. and lunch on sunday was fun for the rest of my medical team and cambodian friends. The pool is gorgeous. A gym would be good. Only the spa prices were high. I found the food and drinks generally well priced and of a high standard. In low season the room prices are very reasonable and its so close to town you can walk easily. Check out the bats at dusk over the park and be sure to feed the little cats who are part of the family. crocodiles in the central decorative pool amused my son!( well caged, I might add). july in siem reap is fine... just a little rain this time and not too hot..less tourists, so go early to enjoy the temples. Just grab a tuk tuk at the door, no need to book a tour.

Room Tip: I was right over the restaurant, but didnt have a noise problem

Dear 255097Wendy_P,

Thank you very much for your detailed review; it is reviews like yours that help us evaluate our products and services.

You obviously enjoyed your stay and the food we have on offer; I will certainly pass that on to Chef. I do agree that a gym is sorely missed but I do hope to rectify this by the end of next year.

A word on the bats for those interested: there are about 4000 of them. The majority are Lyle's Flying Foxes with a few Great Flying Foxes as well.

Dear 255097Wendy_P, I wish you safe travels and would be honored to welcome you to the Victoria Angkor again.
