Nicely located away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough as everything was only 2-3 mins on a tuk tuk. Beautiful pool in the center of the building, room is a little bit small but it didnt bother us. Breakfast was a great buffet spread and happy hour in the evening was a great way to relax and unwind.

We spent two nights in this beautiful Resort earlier this week and loved every moment. It was like an oasis returning after a day out visiting temples. The breakfast, as many have mentioned, was wonderful. something for everyone with seating in or outside. There was a meusli that was out of this world and my eggs were perectly over medium. Our room was comfy but I do agree that the bathtub is a little cramped and perhaps that's somewhere where a little renovation could go a long, long way. The elevator is charming but getting in and out can be an ordeal. The staff her were delightful, food in the less expensive resto very good. We'd come back in a heartbeat.

Dear jaimeGL,

Thank you very much for your in-depth review.

I am happy to hear that you had a great stay overall. I do agree that the rooms need a little freshening up after 10 years and we plan to do just that early next year. Yes, the elevators, though very decorative, are not the most customer friendly but then the Victoria Angkor Resort has only three floors.

I will pass on the comments regarding the Muesli to Chef though, in all modesty, it was me that gave him the recipe....

Once again, thank you for your review and I do hope you will look us up again should you return to Siem Reap once again.

With a french colonial decoration (it was a real colonial mansion), its a confortable and nice stay in the mood of the town.
Good location, very friendly staff, rooms spaceous and a great swimming pool.
We were very satisfied and happy with this hotel for our honeymoon!

I stayed with my 18 year old son at Victoria Angkor for 6 nights. Beautifully decorated hotel, excellent location - quiet and close to everything - wonderful swimming pool, very friendly staff. The only flaw is the fact that all rooms have only bathtubs with a head shower. I would have preferred a spacious shower. There are indeed many children at this hotel but they were well behaved and did not disturb us. I would come back to Victoria Angkor gladly. Siem Reap is a fantastic destination and I really intend to explore further the quantity of temples (we only had time to visit a few) and the lush pristine nature.

Room Tip: Second floor has nice view over the pool.

Dear brasileira58,

Thank you very much for your extensive and kind interview, I am happy to hear that you had a great stay.

Like you, I would prefer a spacious shower as I am unlikely to take a bath with the temperatures we have here but some clients do prefer bath tubs.

You actually picked a good time to visit Siem Reap as during the summer nature is indeed at its best. Sure, it might rain during the summer, but these rains tend to be short; not really impacting a visit.

Do come back, there are many more temples to visit, including temples outside the Angkor Wat complex. I hope that you will stay at the Victoria Angkor again.

Safe travels,

We arrived to this oasis and were greeted with a cool drink and face towel. The room was lovely, beds were very comfortable. Staff were terrific, spoke good english and were eager to help.
The breakfast was the best we had in our 18 day trip to cambodia and vietnam. The room location was quiet and away from traffic. Air conditioner worked beautifully and we appreciated the free internet access. Would stay there again and highly recommend it to other travellers.
The pool was lovely and well patronised. One suggestion would be to arrange for lighting on the resort paths for early morning departures to sunrise temple trips. It was really really dark and tripping could have easily occurred.

Selecting the right hotel involves a number of key criteria and depends on your preferences. We wanted a good ambience, friendly service, comfortable beds, clean rooms, good pool and a convenient location. We got all of these at the Victoria plus a buffet breakfast that beats all others. We had a pool side view which is worth paying the extra for. Given the heat, the large pool was a real treat and never felt over crowded. We liked the colonial style which gives the hotel a reading and charming ambiance which we didn't feel at Raffles, across the road, which we went into for a cocktail (it felt more formal and less family orientated there). It's a 15-20 min walk from the old market or $2-3 Tuk Tuk ride. Marum's restaurant is within walking distance and well worth a visit.

This may not be the the Raffles or Hyatt but it works for me. Great location, obliging staff, airy rooms, excellent value, free wifi and a breakfast buffet to add some kilos!
The pool is huge and surrounded by vegetation as opposed to some of the more minimalist hotels. For the price I think they are hard to beat. PS be adventurous and have the rice noodle soup for breakfast.....what a way to start the day before you start on the temples.

Dear moonflower59,

Thank you very much for your review; I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay.

And yes, the noodle soup is very nice indeed. It is called "K'tieu" and is something of a national dish; many Khmer will start the day with this soup.
