“Back to a better time”
Reviewed June 18, 2014

Stayed at the Hotel, rooms were excellent, food was spot on, and the bar was a oasis of relaxation. Spent time by the pool and watched the wildlife and enjoyed the weather.
The afternoon tea with friends was a without doubt the best part of the trip.
It was like stepping back to a more relaxed and luxurious time, and I can only recommend a visit if in Siem Reap. We will be returning very soon.

We had a most enjoyable stay at Raffles with staff who really go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Little surprises like returning from visiting Angkor Wat in 36 degrees and high humidity - so dripping in perspiration, to have the doorman offer you a cold towel at the front door.

Service at the bar alone with meals was excellent.

Main issue us that much of the hotel needs to be upgraded (and there were renovations going on during our visit) Room are a good size but the bathroom with shower over a big bath is cumbersome and dangerous for some. In our room it took close to five minutes !!!! with the hot tap running full on for any hot water to come thru. They must waste millions of gallons of water or maybe our room was the furtherest from the heating system - anyway, you just had to plan when you ended hot water !!

Interesting and enjoyable city with some very good restaurants and amazing temples.

We are delighted that, overall, you enjoyed your experience in the Kingdom of Wonder and at Raffles. As a building first taking care of travelers in 1932, we are continually maintaining our colonial part of Cambodia’s history. We have rectified the hot water issue and apologise that you encountered this. Thank you again for the feedback and we hope to welcome you back.

I stayed at the hotel 10 years ago, and loved it. I was scared to come back, worried that it would not be as magical. But it was even more magical.

The staff is lovely and attentive. The rooms are great and the food is delicious. The pool area is spacious.

The only issue is that at the spa if guests are not quiet, you can hear them chat while you are receiving a treatment. So when you book, ask for a treatment room, that is as far away as possible from the changing areas.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the upper most part of the hotel.

second time to Siem Reap and second time at the Raffles. it truly does feel like your stepping back into 1929. elegant, refined, gorgeous. the pool alone is worth staying there. service was impeccable. a bit pricey but hey, if you're staying at the raffles, you shouldn't be looking at the $ amount.

I have been there for 2 nights, and it was a very great experience. The hotel was very nice, I'm not surprised that Angelina Jolie came at the Raffles to get some peace.
The swimming pool is so nice. The room are perfects. I really liked the "old style" of the hotel. The staff is very friendly. The night buffet with the Khmer dance show was wonderful. I hope to come back one day.
