Super charming place to stay. it's the oldest hotel in Siem Reap, which only seems fitting given the age of the temples you're going to visit. The interior of the hotel reminded me of the movie "Out of Africa" - the carefully chosen details make this place special. Probably most unexpected was the quality of the food. It was fantastic.
Temple viewing: we arrived on Friday around noon and stayed 2 nights, leaving Sunday mid-afternoon flight back to Bangkok. This was an adequate amount of time, as it's easy to get templed-out. This schedule gives you time to visit temples on Friday afternoon, all-day Saturday, and then a few more Sunday morning. They're all quite close, so it's easy to get a good variety. We saw 9 temples in 48 hours, and it didn't seem rushed at all. We booked a car/guide from the hotel, and they were both great options, as the guides know which temples to visit to avoid the crowds.
The hotel is a very quick tuk-tuk ride to Pub-street, which has great restaurants. Siem Reap reminds me of China 20 years ago; it's on the cusp of being over-developed. Get here before it changes!
