Staff were very polite and helpful. We had a 6 month old with us, our first trip with her, and had no issues with the hotel.

The food was also delicious, especially the noodle soup and breakfast pastries! Prices are reasonable.

a very relaxing place to stay especially after days of sightseeing in angkor, the breakfasts and the dinners were excellent and the staff couldnt do enough for you. we where lucky to be given a room on the ground floor near the pool so we even had our own deck outside the room overlooking the pool which made our stay even better. although the location is a bit out of town the taxis are cheap so we didnt see this as a problem.

Room Tip: ask for a ground floor room near the pool

I really enjoyed my stay at the Sofitel Angkor in Siem Reap. The well manicured grounds of the resort put my mind at ease the minute my taxi pulled into the driveway. Check-in was efficient, and the incredibly courteous staff welcomed me with a refreshing iced tea. My room was luxurious, wonderfully appointed and clean. Air conditioning worked very well as did the in-room wifi. Drinking water was also provided on a daily basis, which was a much appreciated nicety. The location is perfect...a mere 5-10 minute tuk tuk ride into town, but far enough away from Pub St. so as to offer a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. It is also one of the closer hotels to the Angkor temples making that ride to see the sunrise at Angkor a little easier. The pool was incredibly refreshing and welcoming after a long day of trekking in the heat, and the concierge was more than willing to help me with any arrangements I needed and always welcomed me with a smiling face. I was especially pleased when they offered to wrap a basket I had bought from a street vendor making it suitable for the plane ride home. I can't wait to come back and stay again! Tip #1: Definitely try the breakfast buffet...they offer a great selection of fruits and international breakfast foods! Tip #2: You can rent bikes right there on the premises! Tip for management: It might be nice if the bikes had baskets or saddlebags/panniers for storage.

The Sofitel Angkor in Siem Reap is probably one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in, and looks like what one might find at the top end in Bali or French Polynesia. Check in was great. I was escorted to the main sitting area in the lobby and given an iced tea with a lemongrass straw. My check in was handled there. Then I was taken directly to my room. The two wings of the hotel are connected to the main part of the hotel by a raised wooden walkway. There is a small lake on the property and the landscaping with heliconia, bird of paradise and flowering trees was truly amazing. My room, in the superior wing, room 355 was large and comfortable with a basket of Rambutans welcoming me. The only problem I found during my stay was that the shower (about every 3 minutes) has a change in water temperature causing a short burst of very hot water (like when the cold water is sucked away because someone flushes a toilet). But, it is Cambodia and I could forgive that. The beauty of this hotel is intensified because outside the walls of the hotel is dry dusty Cambodia, which has a different beauty. It would be easy to never leave this hotel, but both Angkor and Siem Reap have their own charms making me spend less time at the hotel than I would have liked. The main part of town in Siem Reap is a short tuk tuk ride away (costing about $2). I really liked this hotel and would love to spend a week there, to take advantage of the pool, it's swim up bar, the evening show and to take a little more time to enjoy the musician playing in the lobby area. I would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for sharing what appears to be a most memorable experience in Siem Reap and at the Sofitel Angkor. It certainly is flattering to be compared with other top end hotels Bali and French Polynesia, I will make sure to pass on your kind words to the rest of the team. I do apologize for the inconvenience with the temperature shifts in the shower but thanks to your comments, we were able to address. Just as much as you would like to return to us we would also love to welcome you back one day to thoroughly enjoy all that our beautiful property has to offer – Fabrice Ducry/General Manager

We spent 5 days in Siem Reap and chose the Sofitel as our base after reading other online reports. Unfortunately we were unable to get a feel for the hotel from the photos but I'm happy to say that we were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. From the incredibly helpful and polite staff to the beautiful and relaxing pool, the good rooms and the endless food at breakfast.. I'd genuinely recommend this hotel to friends and family, it occupies a large site that sits back from the road and once through the doors you're in a world of peaceful tranquillity. We only ate breakfast at the hotel although they did provide (at our request) packed lunches for while we were out touring, which was all of a good standard. I can’t think of any negative points, in fact if we’d had the opportunity we would like to have extended our vacation at this hotel. Top rate!

Services and food are excellent. No complains about it. Wooden floor inside the room so constantly can hear some noise like dragging chair on the floor from upstairs. and the building is a bit old so the noise can travel around the building

Thank you for your message. I ended my trip of SE Asia at this hotel and it was truly delightful! The rooms, service, food and spa were all excellent. I also enjoyed the cultural show/buffet, the piano bar and the restaurant. This hotel has an excellent location to visit the ruins and to visit town. I truly relaxed and enjoyed my stay at this hotel and highly recommend it.
