Cheap things sometimes can be good, but good things never come cheap. Yes, this cooking class might not be cheap, if you compare it with the 50c USD beer that you can get in Siem Reap; however the personalized menu, chic ambiance, fresh ingredients, super clean cooking equipment and one on one teaching experience, all these will make you feel it totally worth it. We have a three courses tailored menu, a courtesy gift pack with the local cooking ingredient, the cook book and a demonstration DVD for $25USD pp only! What's more? We learnt to make our most favorite Amkor fish there, and we can make exactly the same dish when we are home, with heaps compliments from friends and family. This is priceless..

My husband ( who in 25 years of marriage has never cooked a thing and barely makes tea) and I had a fantastic experience 9.30 to 12.30am at Champey Cooking Class (reservation@angkorw.com or 077 566 455). The class was only us with the chef.
We do not eat meat or seafood so needed a customised approach. A menu was sent to us for approval a day before and a different dessert was requested and accommodated. We were shown by a highly skilled chef what to do nd then assisted to do it ourselves. Made fabulous rice rolls followed by the most amazing Amok fish dish and a coconut milk based dessert.
We were presented with a leaflet containing the recipes ( not the dessert though but you could make notes) as well as a DVD demo to take home and a really cute spice kit.
Cost was $ 25 pp which may be high by local standards but still a bargain by Aussie standards. All was spotless and an all round fabulous experience - which seems to have inspired my husband!
