“A Diamond in the rough”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2013

The Apsara Centrepole Hotel is a diamond in the rough. It is a small hotel in a great location. It is no five star and even a four star is a stretch but all the basics are covered. The location is what sets this apart from all the others. It is just off the “main drag” and close to everything. You could not pick a better location to get the real feel for Siem Reap. Rooms are large, every well-kept and good air-conditioning which is a must in this part of the world. They have a great pool with excellent drink service and great prices. The breakfast is marginal but adequate. The staff is extremely friendly with most having acceptable English. If you are looking for a great Cambodian experience, this is the place. I’d give it a three plus rating and would go back when returning to Siem Reap.

We booked 2 room and stayed for 1 night at this hotel, the location is great, the room is big, clean and have a good smell, just feel like home, they even decorate our room with the welcome message at the bed. worth the money, the staff is very friendly and helpful, they treat us with a very personal care. and they help us to arrange City Tour. They even upgrade one of my rooms from Apsara Studio into Terrace Suite Room! very recommended hotel. Can't wait to stay here again in my next trip to Siem Reap.

Our welcome here was wonderful, very personal greeting from the manager, a welcome drink, flowers strewn around our room and our name spelled out on our bed. Complimentary water in the room as well. The pool area is just lovely, and a perfect place to chill after visiting Ankor Wat for the day. The first two mornings there was a fabulous buffet breakfast spread, but the third day was just a small menu to choose from, not sure why, maybe only a buffet on the weekends? The only thing we didnt like was the driver from the hotel who picked us up from the airport. He was quite late picking us up, and then pestered us to book tours with him. We booked him for a day at Ankor Wat, but found that he knew very little about it, and just dropped us off at each temple and told us where to meet him afterwards. The next day we arranged our own driver and were much happier. The hotel is only a few steps from Pub Street, couldnt be a a more perfect location.

The hotel had the essential pool for our kids to cool down after very hot days Siem reap days. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great location - right across from the central eating area of town and next to the night market, the downside of this being the noise at nighttime. We found the food at the hotel a bit uninspiring, but weren't worried as there were so many other options nearby.

We stayed at the Apsara Centrepole for 2 nights and had the most wonderful experience! From check-in to check-out, staff were all so accommodating, friendly and super helpful. They go our of their way to ensure your stay is memorable and seamless. Place is cleam, great ambiance and convenient for shopping and walking to pub street. They arrange for your tours and whatever you may need. Special mention to Borey, the hotel manager who was most helpful and always looking for ways to help. We definitely recommend this hotel, very good value! Will most certainly stay there again when we return for another holiday.

I am checking out of Apsara today and I really don't want to leave - it is heaven here. I never write reviews for hotels but on this occasion I will make an exception because it really is exceptional. From the moment we arrived we have been so well taken care of - the staff are unbelievable helpful, from helping to arrange massages, tours, transport and anything else you could possibly want. The food is superb and the location unbeatable. Right in the centre of Siem Reap, you are only one minute from the centre but when you are by the pool it feels like you are in a (luxurious) completely remote part of the country. This hotel honestly deserves five stars. I will most certainly be back. We stayed on the second floor in one of the larger rooms and it's like any five star room I have stayed in. A particular mention about the super helpful manager - Borey - who made our stay absolutely wonfderful.

Room Tip: We stayed in B8 and I think it's one of the bigger and nicer rooms (although possibly a bit nosi...

Stayed at the Apsara Centrepole for 6 nights in February and I really enjoyed my stay there. I can´t recall that I´ve ever encountered more friendly staff at any hotel, anywhere. At the reception they were really helpfull with inquiries and setting up bookings. And the nice lady in the reception even came out one morning and waved goodbye as I took of in a tuk-tuk for a tour I had booked. And oh, yes like a previous poster has mentioned: the coffee is just great!! In fact the best I came upon in SR. The Apsara Hotel was my first port of call in Cambodia and I left the hotel with a big smile on my face and a great first impression of Cambodia and the Cambodian people.

Room Tip: First floor rooms comes with access to a balcony (shared)
