Owner description: "Smile of Angkor" is the first grand Epic daily show that revives the Angkor dynasty in all aspects. It's the most worth view show in Cambodia. From foundation to prosperity, tale to folk customs, past to present, Smile of Angkor expresses the original culture with the highest technology It's a splendid performance directed by the experts of the Cambodia Culture and Fine Arts Ministry and the director team of the Closing Ceremony of 2008 Olympic Games. It's a legendary show that revives all the myths from the reliefs of Angkor Temples with our grand stage and the brightest stars. There is a buffet at the venue to allow you to dinner before the show. A small and cosy restaurant is dedicated to the individual visitors (non-group) but be aware that it s a huge buffet for Asian group so don't expect for food and Western standard level. But you will be able to see all the nationalities of Asia and to taste differents foods : Khmers, Vietnamese, Korean... Be aware that during the high season there should have so queue for the bbq which know a big success. During the show you can not take photos or videos. We wish to welcome you

Just arrived in afternoon. Decided on this to get a flavour of the culture and a sampling if Angkor Wat history. A bit corny but is entertaining, though some parts slow. Buffet was not too bad. Though food a bit oily and salty to our taste. Managed to sample some khmer goodies. Can try if no other plans for the evening.

Dear chocoina,

Thank you very much for taking the time to review our show.

Your input, and the feedback from all of our guests is vitally important to us and we always want guest expectations to be met upon arrival.
We have carefully read your review, as well as all the other comments that help us to improve our work.

We do our best to improve the show and the services so that all our visitors would be happy. We have completely restructured our buffet, so that it would suit to each taste. Now you will find there a cosy restaurant with smiling and welcoming staff. Our catering team is constantly working to improve the menu of the restaurant, to provide the best food to four hundred guests of the show daily.

We do our best to insure the best comfort in order to enjoy the show. Dancers performers, Technical team, staff give their best to propose a family show to our International audience. We decided to use English and subtitles in differents languages in order to be sure that our visitors discover and understand the meaning of the show and the various parts of our culture and history performed on stage.

We are proud of our country oand our language but we are prouder that our audience come in our country and in our show, to know better about us, our history, our culture and more important to understand them. So it s because of it we decide to use English the international language!

Dear chocoina, we highly appreciate your review and we hope to welcome you again and to share with you our efforts!

Smile of Angkor was a waste of our time and money. The buffet was okay, but not worth the price. The show was interesting - only because it was unlike anything we had seen before. The combination of lights, TV screens, subtitles, and real live actors/dancers was all a little too much for us. I would recommend you spend your time and money on something other than Smile of Angkor.

Thank J H

We loved this visually stunning show which included great dancing, costumes, music, props and lighting along with stunning projections as backdrops and voiceovers in English. (visual translations in Vietnamese, Korean and Chinese too I think) The ticket price included a buffet dinner beforehand (which, compared to other meals we had in Cambodia, was not of a particularly high standard - go for the freshly cooked food like omelette, noodles, barbecue instead of the Luke-warm stuff in the warmers). Water and juice was included. The theatre was about a 20 minute tuk tuk ride from town ($6 return). At the end, you can get photos with some of the cast for a small donation and can buy the DVD for $5 US. No recording or flash photography allowed during the performance although there was enough light to still get some stunning photos. This show completes the whole Angkor Wat experience.

We were talked into getting the tickets by a tour guide, instead of the other performance they have in Siem Reap. Not worth the $48! Tickets are not refundable so after reading the reviews (which are 100% true) we couldn't return them. Came early (5:40 pm) and the dinner service already started. Food is tasteless, cockroaches running around. The majority of visitors were Chinese tourists. The show itself was ok, but nothing really spectacular.
I felt really bad for having to pay $48 for it.. Please don't go and spend that money on a nice massage and a good meal elsewhere.

We came in as a tour group of 32 members. We paid $US 35 per person, just for the show, no buffet. It was an okay show. Nothing is special for the price. It was designed and created by a Chinese movie director so it looked like a musical show that we saw in Chengdu, Sichuan, China few weeks ago. There was a lot of dancers, 3D light, laser light and music. Just think half of the price goes to the charity organization who helped poor Cambodian children.
