My wife and I ate at the Singing Tree this evening. The upstairs was full so we ate out front. The food was very good and the staff were very nice, but the service was particularly slow. We were getting ready to leave when the food finally came. The staff apologized profusely. From what I see in other reviews, this is a recurring problem. If they fixed this particular issue they'd be awesome. If you go here, be sure you don't have to be anywhere in a hurry.

What this place may lack in atmosphere, is made up with by quality. Located conveniently off Alley Street, with balcony views onto downtown nightlife, this was a great find! The upstairs was surprisingly empty, but our service was very good, and the food was GREAT! The Amok Tofu was a much tastier version than previous dishes, and there was a coconut curry soup with lemongrass (Bon Lai Chien Kari) that we also thoroughly enjoyed. Prices are typical for downtown, wine was cheaper, and we would highly recommend trying at least once!

We had lunch upstairs looking over the small side street, charming! We ordered the cashew tofu and the chicken with vegetables. The portions are tiny! About 2/3 cup of rice and very little vegetables. The bill was 9$ which is about average for lunch but we were still hungry afterwards...

I had dinner and a few beer on the terrace upstairs. The food was very good and pretty cheap considering the touristy place it is situated at. Staff was very attentive and even brought a couple of fans up to keep the guests cool.
