“Real German on a Shoestring”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2012

Your tuk-tuk driver may not know Street 27, but it's just across the river a block from the Hospital Street bridge. Huge German plates of Schnitzel, Rouladen, Goulash, Wursts, etc. garnished with a huge mound of potatoes and a separate salad are $4-$5. It's all tasty and totally authentic. The only downside is no dark beers, but you can get local beers for $1 and Becks for $1.50.

“Great food and great price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2012

Reading all the good reviews my fiance and I decided to eat a late lunch there.

We were NOT let down. I had the cordon bleu which was fantastic. My fiance had the meatballs which were so so very good.

“Basic German fare, but well done”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 29, 2012 via mobile

The not so good first: the restaurant has zero charm and is not suitable for say a romantic date. You also do not want to be in a rush when eating here. And yes, people do smoke; like in every restaurant in Cambodia.

The good: the food, whilst not the best German food I have ever had, is good, especially when taking into account the prices (a big Schniztel with German-style fried potatoes and a salad at USD 5.00 can not earn the owner a lot of money). It is authentic "Gasthaus" food and makes a great break when one has had enough Asian food. Personally, I would flatten the Schnitzel a little more and maybe use a tad less oil with the potatoes, but that is really just nit-picking.

“Decent German food at great value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2012

The restaurant is not somewhere you would want to take someone for a romantic dinner. The food here is simple German cuisine, think Schnitzel, but it is bloody well done. Certainly no better German food in Siem Reap.
