I'm Japanese independent guy and do some homestay in many countries but here Siem Reap homestay is really real.
i mean i had much Cambodian local experience like riding motorbike, watching sunrise, eating local food, learning how to cook Cambodian food, staying at local wooden cottage, taking Cambodian style shower (which was awesome!!), having coffee with shop selling girls, learning the secret of Cambodian history and politics, talking with street child venders and beggars, exchanging presents with Cambodian local seller, soaking at morning and night market and of course enjoying Angkol temples.
What is the most important thing for us, like independent travellers? One of the answers is 'the people there'.
I am sure that you can meet great people at this Siem Reap Homestay.
Just you do check and be happy there.
