We stumbled upon this little tucked away sort of secret garden. We went in and from the get go we were treated with utter care and kindness. We were staying at another hotel and we immediately decided to pack up and move here for our stay in Siem Reap. As we were there in the first month of the Hotel opening. Everything was new.The room was beautiful, clean and all the necessities provided. The hotel managers both took it upon themselves to personally make sure that all our plans in Siem Reap was to be sorted with utter ease and care and that all was planned without stress. Our tuk tuk for the day was booked, and trips to the floating village and Angkor Watt was arranged in a matter of minutes. Dinner served in their resturant was just delicious. Fine cuisine. The whole arrangement of the hotel is elegant and with artistic taste. You feel so at ease. The care and diligence did not stop there. On our exit we had a bus arranged to take us to Laos and Hok Rachana the Hotel Manager made it his responsibility and priority that we get to the border ok, and had the bus drivers to make sure we got there safe and sound. I think when we talk about care and quality. This out of all my South Asia travels was the best stay to date. We were treated so beautifully. So I can't sing loudly or regard them highly enough. But if you are thinking about staying in a nice, clean, beautiful place with a reasonable price then Villa Medamrei is your place. I think to understand it's magic you have to go there.

This guesthouse is new in siem reap and we stumbled across it through luck. I cant recommend it highly enough!

The decor is boutique and very stylish. It is wonderfully kept with very friendly with helpful staff.

The service is excellent and the owner and his family have gone out of their way at every stage to make us feel welcome. They offered pick up on arrival, he drove us round town to show us the sights and help us orientate ourselves.

If we could have imagined our ideal place, this would be it, and at a great price. no tiny detail has been left unattended - right down to a delicious cocktail on arrival.

We came for two days, and stayed for four - enough said.

Thank you Leak and co!

after a long and exhausting trip from bangkok, we finally arrived in siem reap. our taxi dropped us off at his tuktuk driver friends, who were really friendly when they realised we were looking for a guesthouse. altough we knew where we wanted to go, they persistently dropped us off at hotels they knew they would get a commission from. it was a pain in the a**.
when we finally arrived at villa medamrei we were welcomed very warmly and shown rooms. as the hotel just recently opened (2 months ago), we had a special rate (18 usd/night). normally it would be 36 usd (i assume). wifi and 3 internet pc's included. the hotel is very clean, cool and cozy. we felt very comfortable after long angkor days and the hassle on the streets!! they also organized a taxi for us to go back to the thai border (where we came from). it cost 25usd (from the thai border to siem reap we paid 48 usd!!!!). so i am pretty sure there was no rip-off! defenitely a trustworthy hotel and staff!! i absolutely recommend this hotel and would defenitely go back if i was in the area again.

stayed 2 nights starting 21. August 2011
paid 18 usd/double/night

I have been to Siem Reap many times. I recently found a brand new, super modern hotel that is just incrediable. The Villa Medamrei is an oasis in a hot & humid jungle that is Siem Reap, Cambodia. One of my favorite things about Cambodia is how rural it is...kind of set back in time...with all the beauty of Angkor Wat...but this hotel...first off its cool...the setting, the colors, the vibe all just awesome. I love this place its a 5 star hotel with 3 or even 2 star prices...small quiet & cool...what else do you want after a hot day in the jungle. Stay in this hotel!!!!

We arrived in Siem Reap thinking we had reservations at a well respected guest house, only to find out that our booking was not confirmed and they had no vacancies.
They offered to take us to a friends hotel nearby and so we went, thinking that if we didn't like it, we'd just cruise around until we found somewhere nice. Where we were taken to was a brand new, beautifully designed and decorated, immaculately clean hotel staffed with the most friendly, kind and hospitable people I have ever met.
The rooms are air conditioned, spotless, spacious and decked out with king sized beds in the double suites and king singles in the single rooms. The mattresses are very firm but quite comfy. I've endure much worse in South East Asia! There is a beautifully paved rooftop area with tables and chairs and a pool table where you can enjoy drinks and snacks and a great view of the street life below. The restaurant is open quite early for breakfast so you can still leave by 7.30am to go out and see the temples etc. nice and early. They serve both hearty western meals and delicious Khmer dishes too. I don't think there is official room service but on quite a few occasions, my parents popped up to the restaurant, ordered their food and had it brought to their room. There are a few computers downstairs with free internet that is pretty quick. The hotel is about a 15 minute (leisurely) stroll to Pub Street, the Old Market and the Night Market or a 5 minute tuk-tuk ride if you've overindulged at dinner and the reception staff are more than happy to organise transport and reservations for you.
The staff pay great attention to detail; the hallways always smelt of lemongrass or jasmine and when the rooms were cleaned they even folded our clothes and put the cap back on the toothpaste! They were so helpful and sincere and treated us all like family. They were constantly doing things around the place to make their guests' stay more comfortable and enjoyable. When we left we were even driven personally by the owner to the airport in his jeep.
The cost per night was so affordable it was like a dream. We did receive a discount, however even without the discount we would not hesitate in staying here again for the room quality, tranquil atmosphere and fantastic service. We will definitely be back.

We initially intended on staying 3 days after arriving into Siem Reap but enjoyed the location so much that we decided to stay the entire 14 nights here. The hotel is new and the pricing is good value. The upstairs rooms are spacious and the staff are wonderfully friendly.

The restaurant is a bit expensive for Siem Reap (ie: $3 for big bottle beer) but who's complaining!

We will definitely be back here again.
