“Good food at a very reasonable price”

We ate there twice. We got the traditional Thai food plus a beef brochette. Everything was good. The only thing we did not like was the deep fried spring rolls.Service was very good and the people were friendly.

“A stroke of good fortune!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2014

I stumbled upon this place by accident. Making your way down the Alley around 7:30pm on a Saturday night without a reservation meant that I was turned away from every restaurant I wanted to eat at.

Walking around and perusing menus, I randomly came to stand before Traditional Khmer Food Restaurant. One table had just become free, so since I was starving I just went for it. Service wasn't necessarily quick, but the place was packed. Still, the waiting staff was friendly and attentive and my drinks always arrived promptly.

Went for the beef and vegetable skewers with steamed rice for only 5.75$ and the food was delicious. The setting is no different from all those Khmer restaurant on and around the Alley, so you might walk by this place and never know you missed it. But for tasty food at such cheap prices, I'll definitely be going back!

“Tasty food, poor service!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2014

We saw the award this Restaurant was given in 2013 and decided to give it a try.

We arrived around 7.45pm and were shown to a table on the upstairs terrace. Orders were taken very quickly but it was 15 minutes before drinks were served. Luckily we ordered starters which were served shortly after our drinks but many tables around us who had ordered just mains waited over 45 minutes for their food. We also waited another 30 minutes for our mains.

The food was good with Crisp fresh tempura style prawns to start with. These unlike many places were really well seasoned. The Duck Curry which seems to be something of a speciality was rich, spicey and very tasty with tender pieces of Duck. We also ordered Lemon Grass Pork which was tasty and very de

“Great value meal for our 1st night in Cambodia”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2014

With all of the restaurant choices in the old market area, it was difficult to choose, so we went with one that was familiar from Lonely Planet. The place is fairly basic but was clean and had a wide range of Khmer dishes to choose. The food was really tasty and outstandingly good value - less that $12 for starters, mains and beer for 2.
We sat upstairs overlooking the alley as the downstairs tables were all taken. Some other diners declined the offer to sit upstairs, but we couldn't work out what their objection was and actually found it quieter being out of the way of the buzz of passing tourists.
