“An amazing experience”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

Nith was our guide for our time in Siem Reap and he made the time we had truly special. He suggested we visit the museum for some background information before we visited the temples and it gave us a great basis for understanding what we were about to see. It would be easy to become overwhelmed by the number of temples and complexity of the politics and history that surrounds them, but Nith helped us to understand the Kingdom of Cambodia and its interactions with its neighbours over the centuries. An eye opening 3 days!

“Angkor Temples & Tonle Sap”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

Cheab (or Panith as he prefers to be called) can be both a very professional guide and be like your old friend just showing you the best of his hometown. Not in any time did we feel we are his customers, but we were more like a group friends touring the temples and the lake - rain or shine - it was fun, but also a good learning experience as Panith is so knowleadgeable of history and culture of the Angkor empire, and of course, present day Cambodia. We earned a friend by the time our trip is finished and I look forward to coming back - staying longer - in each of all the magnificent temples we visited, and this time, we will be unhurried to hear more about the history of the place and the stories of the carvings or bas-reliefs found on the temple walls, that Panith will tell us more about.

“best trip of a lifetime”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

we are a well travelled couple, close to 100 countries between the two of us, but nothing prepared us for Cambodia. Very RAW country but at the same time FANTASTIC! Phanith was a fantastic guide, educated and a true ambassador of his culture. If you visit Cambodia, please hire him. THe alternative is having a solo tuk tuk driver who drops you off at the temple or just walks around with you. You will miss the history behind all the architecture, so you are only obtaining half the experience.
Cambodia has so much potential....but still very third world. Over 60% visitors develop traveller's diarrhea, please bring cipro, As careful as we were, I had the "runs" for 24 hrs before starting antibiotics. :) Only use bottled water to brush your teeth, NO ice in drinks, avoid smoothies!! We stayed in an upper scale hotel and I still got sick. Our bodies are not used to the new flora, especially in a Asian third world country, so WASH HANDS constantly, BRING antiseptic wipes and USE them!! Also bring supportive shoes, We had great open toed water shoes by Ecco, also by MErrell, etc, you will need them.

Highlights of the trip, BAYON, TA PROHM and ANGOR WAT temples.... and our ultimate favorite, KULEN Mountain!!!! Incredible waterfall well worth seeing and the belwo pool in close proximity to base of falls and the force of water is incredible. We climbed behind the waterfall, only if you are athletic. DO not go swimming into the pool if you are elderly or poor swimmer, the force of water is intense. Wear water shoes!!

Finally, the local market is only for the hard core traveller, aka Nat Geo Wild explorers. Phsar Leu is insane. No ice and every type of animal carcass available, including bags of blood and organs. Markets like this are the source of the next pandemic!! NO joke. Wash shoes after visiting but well worth for those with steel stomachs.

Phanith is fabulous, excellent English, wonderful stories that are true, eye opening and life changing experience for us.

“Fantastic tour guide”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

We went to Siem Reap in June and hired Cheab Phanith as our tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable, open, and very kind during our stay. He took us to out of the way temples which are little visited and maneuvered us through the main temples expertly so that the hordes of tourists were kept to a minimum and we had some time to feel alone in these massive temples. He knows so much about his country, it's history, and all about the ruins themselves. It is nice to meet such a young person that is so intellectual and interested in learning more. I highly recommend this company. His love for Cambodia is infectious.

“Unforgettable, interesting, just perfect”
Reviewed May 7, 2012

We booked our trip directly with Cambodia Tour Services Private Tours without any middlemen or other agencies involved. As they are very reliable, professional and honest people that turned out to be the right decision, Phanith was the best guide we could have found. He knows everything about history, art, all about Cambodia today. With him we had the chance to visit hidden temples without the tourist crowds and he knew all the legends and stories about the rich cultural heritage of his country. That brought the stones to life for us. He was always kind and patient answering the many questions that we asked and adapted the tour to our needs (e.g. time to draw, to make photos, transport to the hotel for those who needed rest).
