“Ideal place to remember that's heaven is on earth”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Had just amazing week in Hariharalaya. Already on first day, I knew I didn't want to leave this place. Energy of the place is just healing and peaceful, so it's impossible to feel more separated from your innerself after staying Hariharalaya. Workshops, dharma talks are so interesting and food was amazing! I don't even know what words to describe people who work there. Lot of good guidance and help on your path even during dinner chatting. I got more family on this trip. Probably I'll be back on day!

Stayed for a week with my boyfriend in one of the bungalows, and had such a great time. I am a newbie at both Yoga and meditation, but the classes are built so that everyone can participate. The food is lovely and there is lots to do (or loads of hammocks to do nothing in if that's what you are after!). We had a few wonderful bicycle tours in the surroundings. Warmly recommended!

Hariharalaya offers a warm athmosphere and a lot of inspirations to follow. Located in the beautiful countryside near Siem Reap you can explore surroundings and villages by bike or you can just join one of many yoga classes during the day. Food is wonderful. So are the people.

I just completed the guest retreat at Hariharalaya and in a week I came to love this place like home and the people there as family. I entered the retreat travel-weary and needing time to relax my brain, center my emotions, and detox my system, and I achieved all this and more at this beautiful and healing space and cozy refuge.

For those who just need a break from the hustle bustle of city life, Hari is a perfect solution. Snuggled up in a village where everyone wears a smile, and the frogs and salamanders are your constant companions (their harmless don't worry), it is easy to lay back in a hammock and soon lose track of your days here.

The center is out of the city but not so far out that you feel isolated, and if you wish there are plenty of opportunities to do day trips on your own, by bicycle, tuk tuk, or even ox-cart ride if that is what floats your boat! Not that you will have any inkling to leave Hari once you get there. With a friendly atmosphere that instantly grounds and calms you and staff that goes out of their way to accommodate and satisfy your desires, this is a community where it you feel an instant sense of belonging.

My biggest regret here was not having more time. A week simply was not enough and if you can plan to be here a couple weeks AT LEAST. whether you like yoga and meditation, there is so much more to gain from this spot- whether it is chanting to the full moon around the fire, exploring the wonders of the surrounding area, taking an informative and inspiring workshop on Tantra with amazing teachers, or just laying around and indulging in the FABULOUS and decadent bliss balls and various sorbets on offer, this place has something yummy for everyone. To all who are lucky enough to come across this place in your journey and seeking a emotional/spiritual/physical reboot of some kind (which we all are), I can honestly say there is no better place than Hariharalya.

I am a 58 year old woman who found peace and serenity at a beautiful retreat called Hariharalaya. I would recommend this center for anyone of any age who is interested in renewing their spirit. Yoga, meditation, chanting, reflexology, reiki, massage and acupuncture were some of the offerings there. The food was amazing. We all looked forward to sharing our delicious meals with people from all over the world. I am so grateful for this experience. I do hope to return there soon.

Room Tip: Any room would be fine.

My experience was calming to my mind and renewing to my spirit. Just what i needed after days on the road and blissfully re-charging for continuing my travels. Filled my day with Yoga, meditation, karma yoga, reading or just simply swinging in the hammock staring at the trees and sky. The food was so amazing and the staff most pleasant. I did not leave the retreat center the entire stay and there is no need to do so. It's good to just soak up the renewing energy in this oasis. Would recommend some noise isolating/cancelling ear plugs for those moments when the neighbors take their celebrations to heightened levels. I highly recommend using this time to "digitally detox."

Room Tip: Field huts are a worthwhile experience!

If you've found it, Hariharalaya is exactly what you're looking for. You can find amazing individuals, genuine support and acceptance as you navigate through the realms of meditation and yoga, and everyday you are nourished with delicious vegan meals (with snacks and kombucha as an option any time of day)! There are opportunities to participate in arranged excursions or if you'd rather go on your own, they have bicycles available for your convenience. Take this opportunity to explore, you'll be glad you did!
