“Excellent customer service - wonderful stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2012

We stayed in the Cashew Nut Guesthouse in January for a four day visit to Siem Reap. The customer service was excellent, helping us make the most of our short stay. Alan (the manager) has even sent us an email with some ideas for our onward travel to south Cambodia and Vietnam, which have proven to also be excellent. The best thing is that Alan has been there and tried it himself to ensure he is happy to recommend it to guests.

Close to the main area of town, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfasts filling. All our queries were answered and help provided with onward travel. Alan also has some excellent Tuk Tuk drivers to call on.

We stayed in the Cashew Nut Guesthouse for six nights in January 2012 to visit the temples of Angkor. The guesthouse is run by Alan and his friendly team who make this place an outstanding and enjoyable place, located in walking distance (~400 m) from the "Old Market". The rooms and bathrooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable and in our room we found a brochure with helpful insider information on Siem Reap, and Wifi was free and working at any time. On the roof there is a nice chill out place with a nice view (sunset and city). In addition to this, what makes this place outstanding is the owner Alain, who helped us putting together an individual tour to approach the temples in the optimum way. Given the size of the "temple park" you really need to have an idea where to start and what to visit. After three days we kind of got "templed out" a bit, and again, Alain proposed just the right "cure". He organized with english speaking Tuctuc drivers so that we always paid a fair price (for both sides) for our very friendly and relyable drivers.
In summary, we can recommend the Cashes Nut Guesthouse without any restriction of any kind. And if we come back to Cambodia, we will happy to stay there for a couple of nights.

Alan the owner of the Cashew Nut was so helpful to us. Advising us on vegetarian restaurants, arranging transport for us and generally welcoming us to Siem Reap. We have been traveling for 4 months and have stayed at lots of great places but the people at Cashew Nut were probably the most helpful. I also recommend the tuk tuk drivers the cashew nut uses, ours was very nice. It is about a 10 minute walk to the area of town with lots of restaurants. Currently the road is not paved but looks like it will be soon. We booked a fan room and were fine with the temperature but didn't hang out there much in the afternoon. There is also a roof area to watch the sunset or hang out and read.

I stayed at the Cashew Nut Guest House for a month (mid Nov - Mid Dec 2011)...and would happily recommend it to other short and long-term guests. Alan, and his fabulous Receptionist, Moon, really look after their guests, and I felt very much at home there, which was essential considering how long I was staying.

The property is only a short walk into the main hub of Siem Reap, and if you don't like walking, there are tuk tuks and motos to take you wherever you want to go.

The rooms are good, the continental breakfast keeps you going throughout your sightseeing or shopping..and the terrace is great for watching the sunset.

Alan is an ex tour leader, so is really helpful when it comes to planning your time in SR.

Enjoy.....and say hi to them for me when you go....

Room Tip: All the rooms are good..

We've stayed at the Cashew nut for 4 nights~ it's been the nicest experience in our entire trip. The room is clean and comfortable. There's a pleasant roof top where you can can an incredible view. Alan and other nutters in the guest house have been incredibly kind and helpful to us! We feel like being home during our stay. And they prepare very good take away breakfast every day in the morning when we went to see sunset, even when we leave at 4:30 in the morning. And the Tuk Tuk driver Alan arranged for us Mr. Borei! He is also Amazing!

After my travel of 6 months in southest Asia I honestly rate "The Cashew Nut" as my favourite place for the following reasons:

- big, clean and nicely decorated rooms.
- Very reasonable price
- Quit big breakfast buffet included in the price
- Highly attentive and good English speaking staff (easy to organize trips, excellent knowledge of Cambodia and Vietnam etc.)
- Volunteers are often hostet, thus the place supports a good thing and guests meet interesting people.

Don't think twice, there's no better place!
