I am quite surprised to read the positive reviews as our experience was fairly average. When entering our room we were puzzled to find there was no shower, just a shower head. The phone completely didnt work (no batteries) and it took a long time to get the tv and fridge to work, as we found out they weren't plugged in, which seems an odd thing to do. The staff were sweet but things seemed a little confusing at times. What was great was the rooftop pool which was a good way to cool down at the end of the day, and also using the hotel's tuk-tuk driver for the temples as they take you around where you want and wait for you whilst you visit and take you to the next one. We had the same driver the whole time who was very friendly and nice. We also got a guide for the temples through the hotel, and the guide was also brilliant, so these were great.

Hotel is a bit far if you want to walk to town (pub street etc) but a tuk-tuk costs next to nothing. And the hotel have bikes for a day hire for just $2 which was also great fun to cycle to the temples.

We had a great stay in this hotel. The furnishings and interiors of this budget hotel is one of a kind. It is very clean. The rooms are spacious with the minimum amenities of the average traveler such as aircon, hot/cold shower, ref, tv, toiletries and hot pot.

Along with the accommodation is a free buffet breakfast. The breakfast was the same day in and day out and not much food choices. The food is usually fried egg, scrambled egg, fried rice, noodles, vegetable soup, bread and jam, brewed coffee, local fruits and juice. All in all, for the price it's a good stay.

The pool on the roof deck is also very nice and overlooks part of the city. Contact the hotel via email at least 3 days before your arrival to schedule a free airport shuttle.

We only stayed here for one night between travelling to Battambang and it really was a day or relaxation we needed! Large guesthouse spread over several floors we had a really large clean double room with private bathroom and TV for $20 a night. $10 each is fantastic for what we recieved and with the use of the roof top gorgeous pool area where we spent most of the day resting!! I tahd a lovely bar and restaurant and after travelling for a long time you need a day just to chill and with all this included I would say amazing value for money.

I am unsure what kind of people are rating this as terrible and poor! clearly haven't got a clue about really bad backpacker places. Location wise it is a 10 minute walk to main area of Siem Reap and down a side street but if you want to get a tuk tuk they are always some available outside.

I highly recommend and we booked through email with the hostel - REALLY ENJOYED STAYING HERE!!! :) :)

Although the hotel is down a small lane the hotel has a great entrance. The rooms were clean and the lunch quite good. Breakfast was a bit down with limited selection and cool eggs. Overall a good stay.

Staying here was wonderful. I came from their partner guesthouse (OK Guesthouse) in Phnom Penh. For the price, I can't imagine a better place to stay in Siem Reap. I paid $15 for a single room with a big full-sized bed, aircon, and a bathroom w/ hot water. The hotel also has a roof-top pool and bar, and you can book a massage, as well.

Free breakfast is great, as is the restaurant in general. The hotel is not a far walk from Pub St and anywhere else you want to go. In fact, it's just off the main drags enough that you feel like you can get a break from the city and relax.

The best part, however, was the staff. Minh and Mom, who work at the reception desk, are absolutely hilarious, friendly, and beyond helpful. I left Siem Reap feeling like we were all friends; hanging out with them was one of the top things that really made my visit special. They were also great with organizing anything I needed. The other staff and tuk-tuk drivers are incredibly helpful and kind. When I was visiting places that were difficult to find, they made sure to stick it out and help me get exactly where I was going.

I left the hotel giving big hugs and big goodbyes to everyone.

A real homely feel. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, allthough our 'deluxe' room had no view - only the wall of the building next door. The basic shower of just a shower outlet in the bathroom was unsettling at first, but grew to really like it - was just like a roomy shower with a dunny!! The free breakfast was nice.....basic, but adequate. The hotel is located a pleasant walk, or short tuk tuk ride from the hurly burly of pub street and just around the corner from lucky supermarket. The rooftop pool and bar is the only one of its kind in Siem Reap. Beautiful food and great views of town - perfect to unwind.......and keep cool when the power went out!! The biggest compliment is for the staff. More like friends than hosts. The cheeky and friendly girls, the guys who were always up for a chat - typically friendly Cambodian. All came out to see us off and wave goodbye!!

The good:

The staff are extremely helpful & hilariously flirty with everyone. If you need help organising tours around Angkor you'll get a dedicated tuk tuk driver for several days & assistance planning your routes.

The rooftop bar & pool is gorgeous and a great place to unwind and watch the sunsets. Again, the staff are friendly & attentive.

The average:

Rooms are pretty basic & the cleaning of linens leaves a bit to be desired. That said, when you start to see how much dust you're bringing back from Angkor its easy to see why they have problems getting some of this out.

The bad:

Wild dogs commonly howl all night interrupting sleep. Its probably the same everywhere given their prevalence.

Organised onwards bus trips - the price was higher than advertised & less than 24 hours before our departure was suddenly increased again & the time of departure changed to 0530 from 0800 for blatantly made up reasons. It continued to be a shambolic mess throughout on cramped mini-buses until we were ditched by the ferry for Koh Chang with more to pay again as the driver couldn't be bothered waiting for the next ferry. Its not the hotel itself running the service but they do recommend them so have to take responsibility.

Overall:

If you organise your travel yourself I'd give this a four star review for the staff & value for money.
