This is the restaurant where our hotel booked us for the Apsara show. We were charged $20 for buffet and show. Apsara dance was entertaining. Food was ok also.

We had two nights in SR and wanted to see traditional Apsara dance. Our tuk-tuk driver recommended this place and we essentially bought tickets sight unseen (whereas we normally would have checked TA first!). For USD $12/person including dinner and the dance, but not drinks/tip, Angkor Mondial is a good value. As others have said, the food is completely forgettable but the dance performance is excellent. However - we sat literally in the front row so had a great view. For reasons I'll explain later I would NOT recommend this experience if you are sitting in the middle or back of the room.

And what must be considered above all else is your comfort level with masses of tourist groups. They come suddenly and aggressively, and unless you are in the buffet lines before them you will have quite the situation on your hands. Waiting in orderly lines is an entirely Western phenomenon, so know that many people among the several hundred who will be eating are simply not going to go to the back of the line and patiently wait their turn. This is every person for themselves, eat what you can get your hands on before someone else grabs it.

If you make it through the buffet line intact (and frankly speaking none of the food is worth waiting for), sit and enjoy the dance performance - if you can see it. As soon as the first dance began, hordes of people rushed the stage to start taking photos, literally forming a wall through which no one could possibly see for the better part of the show. The staff do their best to ask people to sit and return to their tables, but it's still a chaotic scene, and one that is continued even after the show when tourists literally run onto the stage to have their photos taken next to the posing dancers.

All in all I wouldn't return to Angkor Mondial for the food under any circumstance, but I would also only return for the dance if I could get a seat at the front tables. The staff and servers are generally attentive, but make little effort to present this experience as anything other than the tourist trap that it is.

My wife and I were taken here by our guide for the Apsara show, that was our main goal, we managed to have a table close to the stage, but hords of tourists followed, so the buffet-like dinner was both expensive, compared to Cambodian standards and average quality, not to mention the war-like attitude of people at some of the stalls that had food sitting around for a while.
The show was nice, dancers were quite good at dancing, but most people at long tables had very few attention at the show, resulting in a loud and messy atmosphere. Besides everyone wanted to reach the best place to take photos and make videos, another crowd attack to the stage, definetely a tourist trap with average food quality. Not recommended.

We had dinner and Apsara dance show at this 'restaurant' organised for us by our guide Mony from Angkor Guide Services. We had been enjoying wining and dining in Cambodia for 3 days before we arrived here, so the moment we stepped into this restaurant we knew something was deeply amiss.

Angkor Mondial Restaurant is setup like a food hall seating 150 to 200 people. The buffet-style food is self-service from various tables and stalls scattered around the perimeter of the hall. The food was mass-produced, bland, and cooked carelessly without the passionate Cambodian spirit and attention to detail.

The diners were almost all westerners and other tourists. This was not surprising as they were dropped in the carpark outside by busload from what must have be Cambodian tour packages. It was then also not surprising that we were charged exorbitantly at what was equivalent to AUD$24 for 2 heads for a sub-standard dinner.

This is compared to our usual cost of AUD$11 for 2 heads, which included 2 mains (one would always be a deliciously cooked Amok dish), an alcoholic cocktail, and a beer, and dessert. My wife and I felt genuinely sorry for any of the other diners who had not experienced real Cambodian cuisine. Even the locals, such as our tour guide, did not eat here.

I can also refer to the Apsara dance show which would have been the highlight of this food hall. As the majority of diners had just been dumped at this food hall by their tour packages, the general crowd had none to almost zero interest in the Apsara show. As pointed out by other reviewers, the majority of diners continued to loudly talk over the show. The traditional music and dancers were lovely, but the atmosphere was distracting and rowdy.

My recommendation is to steer clear of this place which does disservice to Cambodian cuisine. If you are taken to this tourist trap by your tour, my recommendation is that you leave immediately without eating or paying. Instead go hav 'dinner' at Swensen's Ice Cream just across the bridge, which was our retreat afterwards and the highlight of that evening.

We were with a tour group and went here for the Khmer Cultural dance show. The dance show was much better than we expected but the food was a real disappointment. They had a large crowd of tourists and tour buses and a large buffet. However the food was not distinctive and had been sitting around for a while.
