Kanell provided us with a fantastic food experience after 3 weeks travelling through Vietnam and Cambodia. Tucked away across the river from the mainstream of eateries in Siem Reap, it has a great atmosphere for all occasions. We had dinner there with 5 others in the main dining area, and lunch the next day out on the balcony (yes it was that good we came back for more!) but there are also sheltered tables in the beautiful garden area plus a pool. A bonus in the heat!
We had traditional fish amok, but also salmon, beef and chicken dishes which were all delicately flavoured and brilliantly presented. Desserts were also to die for, with the pineapple carpaccio with lime sorbet a favourite. And the prices were no more than other eateries.
At lunch the next day, we went for the entrees including delicious prawns on skewers. We were pleasantly surprised at the end by the host giving us each a passionfruit sorbet on top of a fresh passionfruit straight from the garden. Service with a genuine smile.
The prices were super reasonable for the quality of food.
