Description: We created Il Forno in 2011 after many years dreaming of opening a traditional Italian Restaurant outside Italy where we would serve authentic Italian food like our grandmothers used to cook. The only addition to our grandmother's kitchen was the building of an original stone brick fire wood oven from where to make pizzas according to the southern italian tradition. We pride to import every single ingredient ( veggie & fruits aside)on our menu directly from Italy and to make all our food home made and fresh daily. Our fantastic team of chefs/cooks start their day very early to prepare our pizza dough that need 10/12 hours before its naturally risen and to prepare home made tagliatelle, tortellini , gnocchi and so on , exactly like we used to in Italy half a century ago.

Good atmosphere, good service and full of Italians enjoying the food - what more could you want from an Italian restaurant in Cambodia?!

So far away from Italia and still such a genuine Italian cuisine. The four of us had a mixture of pizza's (great taste and good size, from wood fired oven), osso buco, gnocchi (a bit overcooked so was taken off the bill after complaining), river lobsters. The service was very good, food was great, prices very reasonable and location quiet. Id we have time this week we'd like to go back again. Highly recommended.

Tucked away in a narrow lane just a minute's walk from the prominent Red Piano, Il Forno is a small, tastefully furnished restaurant serving Italian food. There is no air-conditioning, so be prepared to sweat on a warm humid evening, even with multiple fans struggling to effect a small climate change.;

The menu is modest but contains most of the items you would expect in an Italian joint, although there didn't seem to be any risotto. There was an excellent gnocchi, which was light and fluffy, if a little lacking in mushrooms, and a ravioli which didn't impress us as much. We did try different pizzas on different evenings and they were very good. The squid-ink pasta was a stand-out with a slightly lemony sauce, and we liked it enough to order it again on our second visit. Unfortunately, there was substantially less sauce as compared to the first time, which points to some quality issues at the kitchen.

Prices are reasonable if a little higher than at other joints around the area. Service was good and waiting times tolerable. Recommended but just short of the highest rating due to consistency of food.

Finally found this eatery towards our last few nights in Siem Reap.(Searched in the alley instead of the lane,,,silly us). We would have certainly dined here more if we could have.A shared starter of bruschetta followed up by two magnificent pasta dishes was enough to make us decline what looked like great desserts.However our waiter who tried out a few of his newly learnt english phrases on us decided to give us each a vodka sorbet to finish a great meal.(A nice touch) I can thoroughly endorse il forno.
