Owner description: Some may find it over-powering, but if you're looking for where everybody is, then Pub Street it is. Lined with restaurants and bars selling cheap beer and reasonable food. Later on, the music starts thumping and there's often almost a party atmosphere. People watching is free.

The street is very lively and busy with lots of tourists enjoying cheap beer. You will be approached by young children holding in their arms their even younger siblings. They will come to you and ask you to buy milk for their young brother /sister. If you agree to do so they will take you to the near by supermarket and ask you to buy expensive powder milk. Don't do it! This is then going to their exploiters, whom will sell it for cash. It is a scam and it harms the children. There are some posters around alerting people about the scam, but they don't last long as they would damage the 'business '.

If you're looking for something to eat and drink Bar St has it all. It's lively, noisey, inviting, cheerful and a great place to hang out and watch the world pass by. There are lots of tourists on Bar St and like bees around a honey pot there are a lot of beggars and scammers too. Some I noticed were blind beggars by day being led by a small boy and by night, a member of the 'blind band'. They are nothing if not multi-talented!

Be very careful about the 'baby milk scam' on and around Pub Street. They walk around with a baby under their arm and an empty bottle of milk in their hand asking women (mostly) to buy them some baby milk from a local 7/11. They will not accept the money you offer, they will only accept the purchase of milk powder. I spoke to a woman who had accompanied the scammer (and baby) to the shop and spent £18 on some milk powder which the 'mother' later took back to the shop for a refund. Apparently the shop owners take a cut as do the people who work these scammers. And there are LOTS of them. I counted at least 6 women walking up and down Bar St approaching people to buy them baby milk powder.

This street would be much improved if the tourist police took away the scammers and beggars and kids who go around asking for money to pay for their schooling. There are just too many beggars here to make this a top quality destination.

This street is more popular than the temples ! For night life in Siem Reap pub street is as good as it gets. Lots of bars and restaurants. Very interested place to sit back and watch the action. Can at times get very noisy at night which attracts the younger ones. A must visit when in Siem Reap

Great fun to walk around for the night. Many restaurants to choose from and excellent clubs to stay late in.
