Excellent food, good prices and non for profit. This place trains up street kids to work in the restaurant industry and is such a good cause. If you go please get the corn starter.

They also offer suspended meals, meaning you can donate money to buy a hungry kid food. Please do this as the kids in Cambodia have nothing and are so happy. Unfortunately there are so many organisations that are not worth it but this place was recommended by The Siem Reap Hostel managers who where great guys and who also do great work.

Over the course of three days we ate here twice in two consecutive days. The food was amazing and I was blown away by the Yellow Curry, we all had our favourites. Spring rolls,Corn, Eggplant, Frog, Kampok pepper, Chiili Duck. I ordered the frog and loved it. It tasted so good, although there wasn't much meat on it.Why can't they grow to 2x the size!! The staff were very friendly and everyone was very happy. If you ask nicely you can get your hair braided expertly by Avve! My sister had her birthday her and Avve made her feel very special. overall it was a great restaurant and I would recommend it to anyone. We had a great time.

Return visitors always suggests we are doing something right & that's a good thing. And yes, I remember you all & Avee doing your sister's hair, & your other sister birthday. And I don't think we have ever had anyone at Green Star with appetites as big as you older boys.

Thanks guys for joining us over those two nights, a lovely family whose company we enjoyed immensely.

Take care, Doug & Avee

I turned up alone, but in the mood for a chat, so Avee, one of the owners, invited me to sit with her. She even shared some of her beer! So it was a good social evening for me, but the food was also excellent. Had corn followed by frogs, which were excellent. But leave room for dessert - the babana in cinnamon is amazing.

Kevin, travelling is about good experiences & meeting people, so yes, we dont like seeing people eat alone...unless of course that is their preference. We are happy that you were able to take from Green Star memories of good food & good (Avee's) company. And yes, the desert is good (& rich!!!)

Take care, Doug & Avee

The place is rather small, but it feels crowded in a festive way, rather than an annoying way. You'll want to make reservations, both because of the limited number of tables, and also because of its popularity with local NGO folks.

Thanks for taking time to comment on Green Star. Yes, we do get busy at times, I guess that comes with the 'territory' of a good reputation for our menu

Tonight we had diner at Green star, a non-profit restaurant just outside the center. The food was tastfull and the staff very friendly. Especially the corn as a starter and the dessert (I forgot the name, but they only have one) where a surprise so good! And this all for a very good price.

Thanks Moniquk ....the name you are looking for is 'Pot Ling' (fried corn), but as I say to people it's Avee's 'secret Kentucky fried chicken recipe for Corn...... Don't know how she does it but it taste's great.
