my "husband" and i spent two nights at bunwin while in siem reap to experience the temple complex. the service was exceptional, and the hotel itself is a little off-the-beaten-path and unique in the very best way. we stayed in bungalow #1 (i believe there are only 10 total so it really is "boutique") and just heading back to our door felt exotic, with rich plant-life and a stone path. the staff was so polite and helpful, and even arranged a discounted in-room 2-person massage for us within 10 minutes. with an on-demand tuk-tuk and cell phone when needed, bunwin really makes being a tourist easy and comfortable. thanks so much, bunwin~we loved it!

Lovely boutique hotel. It's location is not fantastic, really amongst a very local neighbourhood, which is interesting in itself. It is 10mins tuk-tuk ride away to Pub street where you will find lots of great restaurants and little pubs to chill and unwind.
Service staff at Bunwin are amazing and very helpful and considerate.
Rooms are spacious and comfy and very value for money.
As it is a relatively small hotel, you will find yourself in a very quiet and nice environment, perfect for a relaxing holiday. I think they have only 10 rooms and we saw afew other people but it was nice and cosy.
The hotel staffs are also able to advise on tours and daytrips in Siem reap which they can help to arrange / book.
Highly recommended! We enjoyed our stay and will not hesitate to return if we travel to siem reap again! =)

Where to begin? First, this was an excellent choice and stay, probably one of the best hotels that i have ever stayed at. Nestled just off the National Road 6, down a small dirt road, you find the Bunwin. If you have never been here, you would never suspect there would be a hotel located in this area. Upon arrival you are greeted at the gate by the staff, for my friend and I, we changed hotels and were picked up via Jeep and driven to the hotel. Friendly conversation and smiles the from the Old Market area to the Bunwin. When i say friendly smiles and conversation, I must clarify and let you know that this is 100% genuine. Its not fake, its not forced, the staff is so unbelievably charming and welcoming. I have stayed in enough hotels to know what a forced smile is as opposed to a genuine one.
As others have stated in their reviews, the rooms are clean, nicely appointed with extras such as shampoo, dental kits (toothbrush toothpaste), combs, etc. The building is constructed of concrete, so is extremely quiet in the rooms. Rooms are very clean, beds are comfortable. Most all of the rooms face the pool, or have a pool view. The whole area is landscaped with trees, shrubbery, banana trees, etc. So when you look out of your windows you get this feeling of looking out into the jungle. While in the pool, most of the building is hidden, giving you a feeling up being alone in paradise. As you swim or sit at the small bar for drinks, or upstairs in the restaurant, you can listen to the birds and frogs calling to each other, with the occasional gecko as well.
The food is great, a variety of fresh juices, breads, bacon, and many other things in the morning. When you arrive you are asked to take a seat, they then bring you a cold wet towel and a welcome drink that is their own creation. I wont say what it is, you must experience it for yourself. As i stated earlier, food at the Bunwin is very good, and fairly priced, and actually we found it to be a better value than what you find in town.
You are provided free pick up and drop off from the bus stop or airport, and free Tuk Tuk into town. If your only going to be in town a short time they can sometimes wait for you, if your going to be there for a few hours they will naturally return to pick you back up. When you leave the hotel, your given a mobile phone which have the numbers for the hotel programmed in. You simply call, and ask to be picked up, and usually within 10 to 15 min your on your way back to the hotel. If you want to tour the monuments and wish to take a Tuk Tuk, that will cost you about 10 USD... which is well worth it, and its actually the same price if you tried to hire one on your own, actually a bit better i think, so i recommend hiring through the hotel as we did. If you have to take a Tuk Tuk from the Old Market back to Bunwin it should be about 2 USD
To sum everything up, if your looking for a quiet place, great staff, off the beaten path but within a very short ride away from everything, then please stay here, i don't think you will be disappointed, i certainly wasn't.

So many hotels and boutique hotel in Seam Reap, but i believe this is one of the best boutique hotel. They will arrange free pick up either from bus stop or airport. There's a welcome drink, all staff very friendly, the room is so big and comfortable, it's king size bed and pillow is comfortable. there's a bathtub inside the room, so unique.
The food at the restaurant also good, not fantastic but it's still worth to try. Swimming pool, not so big but enough, if you feel so hot just jump into.
They give you a mobile phone when you want to go out, so just incase you need to contact hotel or call the tuk tuk, you can use it. I used that to ask tuk tuk to pick us up from the city.
Free tuk tuk to city and they can pick you up also until 10:30 PM that's the services being provided by the hotel... awesome....
If you arrange the tour to see the temple from the hotel the price is very reasonable and it's not marked up. and the tuk tuk driver arranged by the hotel is worked only for the hotel, so it's very convenient and feel safe.

Overall this hotel quality is great, the staff is so friendly and try to know you better, this hotel is good if you travel solo, with friends and with your spouse. Not suitable for families with small children, as they might get bored easily.

I will be back when i visit siem reap again...

There are many options in Siem Reap (over 300 hotels, I'm told) but Bunwin stands out because of the wonderful staff. The rooms are also clean and nicely appointed with little extras such as dental kits and combs provided (something you generally don't find in boutique hotels). They also provide a great breakfast, airport pickup/drop off, and tuk tuk shuttles to the city. I also used there services for booking my excursions to Angkor Wot and Phnom Kulen. They may have been a little more expensive than what I could have negotiated, but the convenience was worth the few extra dollars.

Cons: no fitness center, but you wouldn't expect that in a 10 room hotel and (I'm really nitpicking here) the towels could use an upgrade.

Overall, you can't go wrong with this hotel as long as you're not expecting a large resort-type property.
