We wanted a small hotel for our stay in Siem Reap, preferably one that was both quiet and locally-owned, and the Bunwin fit the bill perfectly. It's a pretty hotel in an out of the way location (in a residential neighborhhod) but near enough to Angkor to make a good base.

Positives: very quiet small hotel; outstanding & attentive staff who can arrange anything guests might want; good food; very large rooms (nearly 50m2); free wi-fi; accessible pool (all rooms are poolside); hotel-provided tuk-tuk transportation into central Siem Reap; locally-owned establishment.

Negatives: hotel is too far a walk for most from the main parts of Siem Reap; rooms finished in a modernist polished concrete look, which may not be for everyone.

This hotel was a great find. I tend to like modern hotels that are not too pretentious. Bunwin definitely fit the bill.

The hotel itself is nice and small with a very friendly vibe/staff. All rooms surround a lovely courtyard that includes a great pool.

Bunwin does a great job with all the little touches that make you feel welcome. We were picked up by Tuk Tuk (complimentary) and liked our driver so much that we used him for the rest of our stay. In the evenings, the hotel has it's own tuk tuks and offers free rides to and from town for dinner. They even provided us with a cell phone so we could call when we were ready to be picked up.

I would highly recommend this spot and would stay here again!

The Bunwin Hotel was great from start to finish. They picked us up from the airport in a tuk tuk and when it was time to go, they dropped us off at the bus station. They also waited at the bus station with us to make sure everything was taken care of.

Unfortunately, the town of Siem Reap flooded while we were there. The hotel was safe from flooding, but it prevented us from enjoying the many restaurants and shops in the city center. As a result, we spent a lot of time at the hotel. Luckily, the food was delicious and reasonably priced at the hotel restaurant. We loved the free breakfast every morning. There isn't much to choose from, but I could eat their chicken porridge every day. The pineapple jam for the toast was addicting.

We absolutely loved the Bunwin. They really took care of us and all of the staff are always smiling!

Pros:
- Free and fast WiFi
- Very clean and spacious rooms
- Zen-like decor
- Yummy breakfast
- Excellent staff

Cons:
- Hot water in the shower runs out quickly
- Not much around the hotel that caters to tourists (just locals)....but they are great about taking you into town in the tuk tuk

Bunwin Boutique Hotel was recommended to us by other travelers & after looking at TA reviews we decided to book 4 nights. (Via online booking agent) I emailed the hotel for pickup at the airport but on arrival there was no one to greet us however after a quick phone call someone was there in about 15 min. Appears my email did not get through. At the hotel we were greeted by so many smiling staff we immediately felt at home. The hotel is very picturesque & with only 10 rooms very personalized.

Our room (06) is huge & fitted out with a large king size bed with a fantastic bed head to place items on. Behind that there are chairs & table. Bath in the main room and a large ensuite with a fantastically large open shower. A/C, mini bar, safe in room & umbrella’s for those rainy days which we had plenty of including floods in the town centre.

A beautiful pool is in the center of the rooms with reception, bar & restaurant in easy access. Breakfast was ample with the choices being the usual for this area of the world. On a couple of occasions we stayed in, due to heavy rains, for dinner & the chef is as good as any in town. The food was delicious, ample & at a price similar to that in town. We usually try different places for meals & found some great places in town but don’t be disappointed to have a meal at BBH.

The staff was as helpful as you could get going out of their way to make sure our stay was as pleasant as it could be. We used Panna & his Tuk Tuk for visits to Angkor Wat & surrounds which was brilliant. Panna was so helpful & gave us ideas for the days activities & made our stay that little bit more special. All the staff were equally as helpful, always prepared to have a chat & it is a very hard place to leave.

As in previous reviews don’t be put off by the location of BBH as the service of the free Tuk TUk’s makes the issue of being a little out of town irrelevant. On the main street just up the lane from BBH are plenty of shops including a laundry virtually over the road from the lane that does the washing for $1.50 a kg. The only issue we had really was that the wifi was really hopeless – which was probably not BBH fault but their supplier. Reception via the router was very good but the download was hopeless. This was only a minor issue as it was easy just to take the laptop into town & utilize one of the many café’s etc with the free wifi.

One of the most pleasurable stays we have had on this holiday throughout Vietnam & Cambodia.

On a side note – the Bunwin has a sister hotel which only opened in August 2011 which Song took us to see. This hotel has all the trimmings of Bunwin & services & looks amazing. No doubt the staff there would be equally as accommodating as Bunwin & is a good alternative if Bunwin is booked out. This hotel is called The Moon Boutique Hotel & is slightly closer to town, again in a back lane which is very quiet for sleeping & relaxing.

Room Tip: All as good as each other

After staying a few days in Bunwin Boutique Holtel. I must say that this place is really oustading. I travel a lot in Asia and stay in many different places but BBH is the best of all of them. The hotel as itself is very nice but what really adds a lot of value is people who work in BBH and the way how they treat guests. Even in much more expensive places, I have never been treated in a such way. The whole staff was extremely helpful and friendly, gently smiling all the time. Whenever we wanted to go to the city, BBH provideda tuk-tuk for us. We had also a mobile phone from hotel to call the reception when we wanted to come back and tuk-tuk was sent from hotel to pick us up. Summing up, I can recommend this place who like quiet, small, comfortable places.
