I know our tuk tuk driver thought he was recommending a premier attraction but he was wrong. What a disappointment! When we paid our US$15 each for entry, we were not told that all but 2 of the exhibitions were closed and there were no cultural displays scheduled to commence till 1.30 pm (we were there at 11.30 am). The exhibits in the 2 museums are poorly lit, taxonomically amateurish and either have limited written explanations or none in English. Perhaps the Village is not meant for foreigners but they were happy enough to take our money.

The Cambodians are beautiful people and I would like to be able to say that this place is worthy of a visit, instead it is a complete waste of time and money- it is a ghost town with more staff than tourists. It is a shame as it has great potential, but for now I would say it is not worth a visit. Spend your time and money else where.

We did not realize just how big the Cambodian Cultural Village is so make sure you allow at least 3 hours and check when the shows are on.

There are miniatures of famous historical buildings that are set out as 10 separate villages each with their own displays and different shows such as Aspara dancing, the Peacock dance, a traditional Wedding Ceremony, acrobats, etc.

The museum has displays of wax figures depicting how Angkor Wat was built and the lifestyle of the Khmers during the Angkor period.

Was it worth the $15 entry fee, I am not too sure about that as we were only there for a couple of hours and I do not think I would bother going back to see what we missed.

The Cambodian Cultural Village is on National Highway 6 about 3 kilometers from the airport.

To be far it was a very hot morning and very few visitors, felt like a ghost town. There were a number of shows listed but they were very spaced out and you would need to spend a good part of the day to see them. I could not be bothered to lose a day here.

In order for you to understand more of the Cambodian culture, it is best to visit this place too.

Here they have some reenactment of different Cambodian marriages and traditions.

So if you're overload with Temples you can visit this place for a change.
