“5 star hotels should learn from golden temple”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

i don't really do reviews so this is my first, because golden temple deserves it. i have never experienced such great hospitality. if you need a REAL holiday, staying at golden temple is enough! i would like to commend An-ne and all staff members for making us feel so special! The staff even beats the people from Shangrila Hotel!! Dont think twice booking this hotel!

The minute we stepped in we were greeted with happy smiling people. Their warmth and hospitality made our stay extra special. The hotel has an ambiance of the best spas, it was so relaxing after a long flight. Our was not ready yet, so they gave us free breakfast and massage. Their lemon ice, oh my god!!!, i cant get enough of it! When we finally got into the room, there were rose petals on the bed and special
arrangements. After a long tour of the temples, the staff will offer hot towels and a snack with a cold drink for free! There is an in house spa which is cheaper that the spas on Pub street, a lot cleaner too! Speaking of, Pub street which is the main party place in Siem Reap as well as the old market are walking distance or $2 tuk tuk ride. Also free tuk tuk to and from the airport. The tours can also be booked at hotel with competitive prices. When you ask to make up your room, you will come back to it with flowers and petals all over. Over all i reckon this is one of the best hotels i have ever stayed in, way way better than 5 star accomodations we stayed at in Sydney!

My husband and I stayed here for 7 nights whilst 'doing the temples'. The staff are an amazing collection of wonderful people full of fun and attentive to your every need. It makes for a very relaxed stay in a beautiful and professionally run hotel. Every time you come back from an outing you are greeted with icy cold towels (much appreciated in the extreme heat of May). Sit by the wonderfull pool and a pot of tea and snacks appear and also if you are using the complimentary computers. The included breakfast is very good with lots of choices.
Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Pool view rooms but not ground floor as little privacy.

The staff are brilliant! Service is outstanding, they are there for your every need. They remembered our names and greeted us each time we came back from a day at the temples with cold towels then cold drinks by the pool. They organised our tours and the tuk tuk driver was great! They also organised our bus to Phnom Penh to pick us up from our hotel on check out day and gave us our tickets. The restaurant has a good variety of food and it's yum! The whole vibe is so calming as soon as you walk in there! It's only a 5 minute walk to pub street with all the main bars and markets or a $1 tuk tuk, the drivers are always waiting out the front if you need one! Otherwise they gave us free bicycle hire if you want to take yourself out! They gave us a free massage each and they're prices are very cheap, about $7 for an hour. The best place out of 5 places we stayed over 3 weeks, nothing came close to the service we experienced here, not even the '5 star hotel ' we stayed at. Missing it already and highly recommend, we'll be back!

Got a more than decent room for $19 a night. The room had two beds, and if I wasn't alone it may have been tough to figure out where to unpack. As it was, I used the second bed as my wardrobe. Bathroom was adequate and clean. Couldn't figure out how to get the tv working, but I was so exhausted everyday it didn't matter. Cold towels and drink on arrival was a big plus. The driver they hooked me up with was awesome; I ended up using him for 4 days and airport run. Breakfast was cheap and tasty. Service was thoughtful and friendly.

All the other reviews have said everything there is to say about this place. The food, the swimming pool, the service! The massages, , ... everything was excellent. There were many crickets which did not bother me but bothered my kids. The hotel promised to spray more. I personally would prefer less spray than more. The surrounding area is a huge building site as there are many hotels being built right now.

We went to Siem Reap with high expectations for our stay. The staff at Golden Temple met and exceeded our every need. From the delightful room on the second floor to the cooking class we took with the cooking staff, we had a wonderful time. The location near the various markets made it easy to get around and the taxis were plentiful and cheap. The food at the restaurant was great. We would love to go again.
