“BEST hotel, wish i stayed longer”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2011

Amazing hotel!
This rivals as one of our BEST tripadvisor hotel finds in the world!!!! The service was amazing....we were greeted with juice and fruit everywhere we went. They were more than helpful finding us drivers for temple tours and were cheaper than anyone on the street could offer.
The room was gorgeous. Very big. They even have DVDs in the rooms with histories of Cambodia and the Angkor temples. Everything looked new and VERY clean.
And they have a gorgeous pool, apparently rare in the area. The pool was very nice after a long, hot day at the temples.
Breakfast is literally amazing! Gorgeous looking, fresh, and plenty of choices. We also ate dinner at the hotel one night and it was great too!
And everything was dirt cheap....$7 massages, free taxi to airport, etc...
Our only regret was that we weren't there longer. I literally told my husband I wanted to cancel the rest of our trip and just stay there.

If I have to come up with the downsides of the hotel, they are that the walls are a little thin, the shower is the variety that is over the toilet, and only some of the rooms have a view of the pool and others, instead, have a view of the building next door....but these are literally stretching for something bad to say!

We trusted the reviews here and were not disappointed. As it has been mentioned here avoid rooms that face street because of noise. All in all the reviews are very accurate. Suggestion for the tour to the temples: get in touch with Sov Sothik via Facebook for the less expensive tour and superb guidance.

Our trip was quite short and fast... only one day, one night to add all hours of stay. From afar, the hotel really has a character, an attitude... something that will really catch your attention. Not just the color but it really is an exotically native impact. The facilities are clean, food and presentation are great, the staffs are friendly, services are excellent.

The welcome drink and snacks are really something.. I love the lemon iced tea as it was a very refreshing drink after 6-hrs ride in the bus and hot afternoon in tuk-tuk. The sticky rice with jackfruit was really delicious. The room size, cleanliness and arrangement are excellent. I also loved the spa service with the cucumber strips on my eyes.

The price is really worth the stay... not to mention that the location is near the market and restaurants.

It exceeded my expectations.... definitely a place to stay in Siem Reap.

Everyone goes out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. From the welcome drink to the delicious breakfast to the complementary massage, this hotel offers travelers a wonderful stay. The location is good - just a quick walk to the old market and Pub Street area. Rooms are very comfortable. Recommend highly.

Best hotel during our 4 week trip in Cambodia/Vietnam. Nicely designed place with an exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Bathroom looked a bit shabby but clean. A/C very close to the bed. View from the room was not particularly nice, directly onto the very nearby guesthouse. Nights were very quiet.

Great pool unfortunately close to the street, i.e. some noise if the fountain is turned off.
Tuk-tuk driver organized by hotel (Pros) was incredibly friendly even though he did not speak english at all.

Ate once at the restaurant which is good. Best fresh spring rolls we had on our trip.

The Golden Temple had the nicest hotel staff of any hotel that I stayed at during my trip. They made an effort to get to know the travellers and say hello all the time. The rooms are very nice, with a few niggles. The showers are weird and tended to get the whole bathroom wet, and the hotel put petals all over the bed and bathroom but I found it a little over the top and annoying (as a dude). The amenities in the room were nice with a flat screen tv and dvd player (with some dvds to watch). Also, they have this key system, where the key turns on the power to the room, so you can't leave anything in the room to charge or in the fridge to cool while you are out. On the plus side, the breakfasts were awesome! There is a set menu, but all the choices were good. The rooms had free wi-fi and there were some computers near the lobby that guests could use. The hotel location is a little bit out of the city center, but you can easily walk there in a couple minutes. Overall, the hotel is decent value. It is a level up from backpackers/hostels in both quality and price.

As for seeing the temples and general area, the hotel arranged a fantastic guide for us: Tivorn Vun who you can contact directly at vorn_66@yahoo.com or by phone at +855 12235699 or 012 235699 inside Cambodia. He was a great guide and he had some personality as well, telling jokes and being super friendly.

We spent 4 nights on Golden Temple Hotel.
Very nice room, wonderfull swimming pool, great FREE massage ( one per stay).
We book thru Agoda.com and get better prices that directy from hotel site.
Prices of the tours are also very good, comparing to others hotels and even for free lancers tuk tuks.
Some points tha could be improved:
Breakfast - You have to chose one of the 3 sets. After 2days you get a bit tired of the same food.
Bikes - Althought they annouce they have free bikes, the bikes are really old and not well kept at all, so it will be better to rent good ones for US$ 4 or 5 at any shop around.
