“So so”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

Don't put your expectation too high, it was ok.
They had around 3 - 4 culture dance (fishing, farming and other two I can't remember) then only the Apsara.
The buffet dinner was nice, quite a number of variety.

“Interesting Country Culture”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

We asked our hotel to recommend an attraction that would give us a taste of the Cambodian culture. They recommended the Apsara dinner and dance show at the Ankgor Village Hotel. It is a very beautiful structure in the heart of Siem Reap town.

You are seated at long tables on pillows on the floor, and your legs are in a sort of pit. This was interesting, but not super comfortable. The dancers and musicians were fine, and this is what we came to see. We were given a program that described the different dances and symbolism, which helped in the interpretation.

The food was not very good and I left most if it uneaten. The service was OK. Had to wait awhile to get a drink.

Overall, it was a good experience just to see the dancers and get a taste of the culture. But for the price, I expected a little better food.

“Very bad food and very poor performance for a shameless price”
Reviewed April 25, 2013 via mobile

I can only repeat what is written in the previous comment: canteen food served in very small quantity, as bad as cambodian food you would find in the cheapest and touristy neighbourhoods in a european city. Performance: mostly if not all of the "dancers" were children laughing on the stage. I would find this in a school performance cute but not for this price.
On top of all that we found out that the place is run by a german lady!!! I thought Germans were known for quality. This was just chocking for this shameless price (25 $ / person without drinks, soft drinks 2.5 $).
Too bad we have not checked the web before deciding to go to this place and have blindly trusted the rough guide where this place is recommended.

“average food, poor show”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

We were there recently. The food is average, served in small quantity on a tray like in a plane. The worst part is the show though ... looked like a bad year-end school performance, with the dancers speaking to each other while dancing, and the musicians even fall asleep during the show (see pictures).
I strongly recommend to avoid going there!

“Nice show, poor food”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

I agree with others. The show, although clearly for tourists, was a treat. The food though was amongst the poorest I've had in SE Asia. Terrible spring rolls, a decent soup, average fish amok, some pork dish that was ok, and overly sweet pumpkin dish for desert. Eat first and then see the show (but you'll still need to pay for dinner
