“Free Aspara dance, decent local food”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Headed to the restaurant for dinner as we wanted to catch the free Aspara dance demonstration.
As we were early, the place was quite empty and service was prompt, though not exactly friendly. The first waitress that took our order was slightly grumpy and seem to exclude the "you are wasting my time" attitude.
We ordered a total of 4 local Khmer cuisine dishes. All the dishes were decent except the local soup which lacked flavor.
We were subsequently served by a different waiter who was all smiles and stopped to chat with us while we were waiting for the dance to start. This level of service was such a contrast to the first waitress.
The Aspara dance was decent and entertaining, but we did not stay the entire 2 hours as we were tired from a long day. We left after the first 3 dances. Each dance is different and there are breaks in between as the dances change and grab new props.
Would recommend it for people looking for cheap decent local food. Do stay and nurse a beer while you enjoy the Aspara dance!

“Value for money”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

We were at this restaurant to see the Apsara dance. It's free!
The food was decent in terms of taste and portion size. The wine was not good and I hardly had any. Overall, an alright experience.

“Poor food standard & Service”
Reviewed March 31, 2013 via mobile

This is the second restaurant on Pub St. we dined and the first one was excellent therefore we had high hopes. We ordered Cambodia Curry Chicken with Jasmine Rice, Fried Khmer White Noodles and Cambodian Soup. First the service of the waiter. Someone must have pissed him off because he was very grumpy when he took our order and didn't even repeat the order to us and walked off straight away! Now the food was bland, the curry was tasteless with not a bit of spicy to it at all, the portions are small especially the white noodle. Cambodia Soup is just normal soup, bland with no flavour at all.

Small portions, tasteless and poor service.

The only good thing was the Free 10 mins Apsara dance which starts at 7:50pm.

“Great Party atmosphere!”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

Excellent music and great environment for drinks, food and dance right in the Pub Street! However, the place is too crowded and takes a while for your drinks and food to be served!

“Cooking Class at Temple Club”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

We took a cooking class upstairs at the Temple Club. It was only $10 per person, and lasted about 2 1/2 hours. We signed up for this 2 days ahead, and when you sign up for the class, you sign up for the items you want to cook (small selection to choose from). On the day of the class, first, we went to the nearby market, and the chef pointed out many local foods, unusual ingredients etc. We learned about a number of ingredients that we had never even heard of before! We all cooked an appetizer, ate that, then cooked 2 more dishes, which we then ate. Both my husband and I did most of our cooking with a fellow traveler from another country (everyone spoke English as the common language), and that added fun and interest to the afternoon. We had a good time doing this, and it really added to our experience in Cambodia.

We ended up taking 3 cooking classes on our month-long vacation, one in each country. Each was different, and each was excellent. I recommend taking cooking classes, and I will do this again, no matter where we go. It was a great experience, and I highly recommend this. I learned of the cooking class at Temple Club while taking a cooking class in Laos-- I have recommended this class to many other travelers we met. In addition to learning about the indigenous foods and ingredients, taking the cooking classes is also a great way to meet other travelers.
