“Would not stay here again.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2011

We arrived late at night. The first room we were shown looked old and was sparsely furnished. It appeared to be in the main building in which the staff lived. When I saw that the bathroom consisted of a narrow room without a sink and the shower head was positioned over the toilet as well as what looked to be old dusty boxes in the corner of the bedroom I asked for another room. The second room we were shown to was small and dark with an old shabby bathroom attached. When we used the shower the water did not drain but pooled across the entire bathroom floor. We had to divide the showers between us (as in one of us shower at night and the next in the morning) as if we had not the water would have flooded the bedroom. I found it hard to sleep because while the resort is located a far from the town, there must be a bar nearby that plays LOUD music most of the night. It is also located under the flight path and the plans are also very loud. As the resort is quite a way out of town, which meant that you pay more for a tuk tuks than if we stayed in town. There are a great many new and comfortable hotels in the town I would recommend checking those out instead. It is unclear what about the resort made it eco friendly. On the plus side the staff were polite (not friendly) but polite and the garden was very pleasant. I would not stay here again.

Paradise Eco Resort is a green resort located in the quiet and beautiful area of Western Baray.
We are sorry not to discount your room at 5$ because firstly the rate of 15$ is recognized by all our guests as an amazing value and secondly because we were in high season and fully booked.
Paradise Eco Resort has been funded for Nature's lover and not in the only way to answer the needs of backpackers. We do not recognize the room that you describe and the alcohol that you had gulp down before check-in probably explains your vision. It seems that you didn't see or wanted to enjoy our swimming pool, our huge garden, the free wifi, our excellent restaurant and share a bit of pleasure with our staff and the other guests.
Should you had such complaints or questions, I am very surprised that you didn't ask/tell me or the staff anything.
Why ECO ?
We called it Eco as we are nature's lover and like to share this with the guests. Everything has been thinking in order to protect the environment and enjoy the nature. You should not miss our unique dry toilets which are located right in the middle of the resort or our system to treat the waste water thanks to numerous of tropical plants (river in the middle of the resort), our compost make from our selection of garbage and many small other gadgets that make our life more enjoyable with Mother nature ...
Also, we had renovated the resort selecting the most ecological material available locally. It's why we have used mainly bamboo for the room (which is the most ecological material for construction), rice leaves for the roofs, local stones for the swimming pool and local woods for the roof structures. As all the guests can see, we encourage to limit the use of electricity, it is why you will not find any TV, fridge, phone or other non-necessary electric equipments in the rooms. We did the choice not to include hot water and air-con in most of the rooms. And even you choose a comfortable bungalow, we will refund you 10$ if you do not use the air-con. In order for our guest to enjoy the beautiful countryside around our resort, we encourage our guests to use our free bicycles.
For sure, we can do a lot more for the protection of the environment, like solar panel and ecological swimming pool but it is a huge investment that we can not afford actually. But if the guests continue to support our totally new and unique concept in Siem Reap, we commit with Mother nature that it would be our priority of investment.
The only genuine information that you give is that we are near the airport and we can hear the planes but it is usually not a big deal for the guests(cf others reviews).
Should you wanted to enjoy our resort, you should not stay closed in your room and enjoy the rest of the property. And not stay only one night, it;s particularly enjoyable during day time !

Great location 6km from town = quiet & peaceful. Room are as stated on the web site. Variety of rooms & prices are cheap. French hosts, local cook. Great patronage and food to die for. Pool is so-so. Could be cleaned a bit more often but nice and very safe for the kids. If airplane traffic annoys you, stay elsewhere. Not a bother to us but I am a pilot! Air traffic stops around 2300 and resumes at 0630. A/C rooms worth the extra dollars as with hot shower. We would stay here again and definitely recommend to friends, couples, singles and with children.

Paradise Eco Resort is Siem Reap's unique eco lodge. We are an eco-friendly resort located at the beautiful West-Baray area near Siem Reap. The temples of Angkor Wat are just a (few) stone throw away.
The resort is surrounded by coconut-, mango-, lemon-, wooden apple trees, frangipanis and plenty of other exotic plants. The swimming pool and garden invites for relaxing.

Paradise Eco Resort is also a dynamic place where we are happy to offer a pristine location for the environmentally conscious traveller visiting Cambodia. We encourage nature and culture lovers to visit our green resort for a truly unique vacation experience at Siem Reap.

We were greeted at the gate by bebe just as the other reviews explained. He gave us a brief run down and showed us to our double bungalow. Clean and neat. We only stayed for one night but would recommend to anyone wanted to upgrade from a back packers but without expecting the Hilton. It's located about 6km out of the main town and might cost you an extra dollar by Tuk Tuk. Enjoy

We spent a few days at Paradise Eco Resort in their lovely '' Deluxe bungalow'' and we will never forget this very nice place. We thought we would stay only two nights of our planned three but actually we extended our stay to four nights.
It is such a nice and relaxing change from busy Siem Reap. The staffs are very friendly and helped us to arrange for the tuk tuk & guide for the Tour with a good price. We found ourselves relaxing by the pool after a long day at the Temples which are not so far from the hotel. And we will never forget our Romantic Candle light Dinner by the pool arranged by Sokea.
Paradise Eco Resort is not just a hotel but it is also a place where you can feel to be alone in an island when you discover the rooms (I especially recommend you the Double Deluxe Bungalow). Would love to come back again for my next trip to Cambodia.

Been to Paradise Eco Resort, end of July. This was one of my wonderful trip. This is a very relaxing place and green landscape, surrounded by a lot of coconut trees. The room was clean and comfortable. Sokea and Salat were very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool with the small beach is very lovely.
Breakfast was very good although quite basic - but good enough and delicious.
The hotel was so nice and make me feel home there.
Definetely would saty there again and will surely recommend this hotel to friends and travelers in Siem Reap.

Dear guest,

Thank you for staying with us. We have Eco-, Bambu-, Bungalows and Villarooms. Bambu-, Bungalows and Villa-rooms with A/C and hot water.
We have all kind of fruits in our garden. The chilly in your food was from our own plantation in the garden. The jam for breakfast is made fresh out of banana and pineapple.

Best regards

If you are looking to spend a few comfortable days surrounded by nature, great people, amazing food and a little adventure, then this is THE place. You can feel great about the fact that this is a truly eco-conscious hotel. In fact, there are no tv's and no mobile phone reception, which means you'll be able to truly disconnect and enjoy a wonderful time surrounded by nature. The accommodations strike the perfect balance between luxury and simplicity; clean, comfortable, and truly beautiful. Again, the focus is to let you experience the surrounding environs, not to remove you from them. The fact is that the host and chef (Sokea and Salat) are fantastic people, will make you feel that you are a guest at their home adding to that feeling of relaxation. Out of town we had many advises to discover the nearby countryside (western Baray and the lake Tonle Sap). We didn't miss the crowdy city of Siem Reap at all !

Excellent place! I've choosen a lovely bungalow hidden in the huge garden. Very relaxing... The staff are sooo lovely - Ms Sokea and Ms Salat are all smiles and very welcoming. Food (Khmer and western) is decently priced and delicious. I stayed four days and promised to return. Wonderful. Perfect for couples or singles. Great energy ! Quite still in mid-January but met really nice people coming through.
