“Very Pleasant Time! (I stayed 2 Extra nights here)”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

Very friendly staff, helpful at planning tours. There are 2 buildings for this hotel (more like B&B). I was in a room on the 3rd level with a terrace and very good view. Breakfast next to the pool is refreshing, and location is walking distance from Old Market and Pub Street. Anything you need help with, the hotel does. Mop is a very helpful and friendly employee, as is many of the other staff. You might hear some noise at night, but is nothing major. I still slept well. The water in the shower was not hot enough. That's just one of the things you tolerate when paying $35 a night.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a terrace and a view.

We loved Banana Garden. The hotel is gorgeous with a lovely pool and beautiful, clean rooms. The staff were just incredible and were so eager to help and please. And the breakfast was delicous, including their presentation. They really care about every little detail! Highly recommend a stay with them and the perfect location to access all the markets and night life without being in the center of chaos or near tyye big hotels.

STAFF is FABULOUS: My stay in Siem Reap was the best of a 3 week vacation and the hotel had a lot to do with that. I stayed in a Standard Double room in the B&B part for 5 nights. There was always plenty of staff around in the patio-like reception area of the hotel, and every one of them was super friendly and helpfull and they all speak good english. Going back to the hotel after a busy day sightseeing felt like coming home! The staff helped me book a day excursion in the countryside and arranged in-house massage in 10 minutes. I asked for a table to be able to work on my computer when I arrived and in 2 minutes the staff walked in with a table that served as my desk.
FACILITIES are GREAT: The room, bed, floors were super clean. Sure the bathroom had a more rustic character, with a walk-in shower with stone floor and a stone sink. But toilet, sink and shower were very clean and well maintained (and I'm a clean-freak myself!)
I love the outdoorsy character of the hotel, having free breakfast on the poolside patio, and reading your email in the little courtyard right outside your room. I would go for a quick refreshing swim in the nice and clean pool every night I came home from sightseeing.
LOCATION is PERFECT: It's in a quiet alley away from all traffic, yet just a minute walking from the night market and pedestrian bridge via the back end of the alley. If you walk the other way, it's just 2 minutes to the main bridge to the pub street with all the bars and restaurants. There's a little convenience store on the way where you can get your water for the day trip or beer when coming home at night. If you're into clubbing, the hippest club in town, HipHop, is 2 minutes walking, on the way to pub street. Despite being in an alley, there are always tuktuks available at the reception of the hotel. The hotel arranged me a super friendly and nice tuktuk driver the first day and I used him for the next 2 days. I would definitely stay there again.

I stayed four days over xmas this hotel is split by an alleyway intersection, where the tuk tuk drivers wait and talk throughout the night it is also used as a rat run for bikes dogs are also a problem as is the local cock, early morning guests can be heard leaving for the temples and other destinations the hotel is a little quirky with a nice pool area maybe the rooms around it have less noise

We are not fussy or difficult travelers but right now I think we would have had more value from a back packers down the road.
- cold showers
- plastic wrappers left on the bathroom floor
- and when I made a booking 3 months ago I requested a double room, not a room with 3 double beds which feels like the broom cupboard!
We have complained to no avail- clearly business is booming and the little people no longer count.

Went there for the half-marathon end of November 2013, so place was full and Siem Reap generally a bit busier than usual. Great showers, nice pool, really nice staff; polite, flexible (I mean in terms of service rather than physical capabilities). And really great eggs.

I am a low maintenance traveller, but when I cannot take a hot shower, I am also not a happy traveller. I spoke with the front desk people numerous times, to no avail. The manager refused to talk to me, and after many stern conversations, they finally gave me a 10% room discount. Internet was spotty. The location of this place is great and the breakfast was quite good. It was clean, and the staff helped me arrange excursions and tuk tuk drivers, etc. I wish I loved this place but I would not stay here again and I would not recommend it to anyone.
