Owner description: Home to Angkor Wat, one of the largest religious complexes in the world, and a stunning array of 9th to 13th century temples built by the kings of the Khmer Empire. The Angkor Archaeological Park is breathtaking, and still the principal draw for every visitor to Siem Reap.
Useful Information: Stroller parking, Activities for older children

We were rambling for 3 days in this park and visit many temples, the ruins of the Royal Palace, Elephant Terasse where the coronations and parades took place. You should visit it early in the morning or after 15:00. After noon the humid heat is unbearable.

If you have time, buy the 3-day pass (US$40 p/p) to visit this site because it is huge. We spent one day doing the "outer tour" with a tuk tuk driver (US$20), one day exploring on bicycles (US$5.00 p/bike) and the last day doing the short tour with a tuk tuk driver ($12).

If you rent bikes, consider spending a little more to rent the mountain bikes ($5 vs $1.50) because you will travel 20-30 km, and it's much more enjoyable on a newer bike with multiple gears.

I visit the site regularly due to work, and it doesn't matter how many times I go, seeing the early mist fade away during he sunrise through the towers of Angkor Wat or the Bayon temple is breathtaking. The temples have a thing for everyone: if you are adventurous, you can climb the steps to the towers, if you prefer to stay on the ground, you can walk around every temple and visit the lower tiers. Do not miss out on the elephant trip to Bakeng or around Angkor Thom, it is really lovely!

We visited Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Bayon, Ta Prohm and Banteay Srei over 3 days in the area.

Nothing you have read or seen does justice to this place. Do yourself a favour and hire the best guide you can find. It will bring the place to life.

Finally go here soon. The crowds are ridiculous and will only grow. See it before it is killed with kindness

Stunning views, rich history, good exercise. There are a lot of options for dinning in the city. I enjoy vegetarian food, which exist. The roads are bumpy in some spots on the daily drive to the park, but not bad on the whole, and the price is right for a tuk tuk, 15 usd/day.
