The Angkor archaeological park (entrance fee 20 USD / day) and 'the city' fortified, the temple of Bayon and all the impressive examples of architectures are an experience that you will never forget for all your life. If you are travelling in Cambodia don't miss it!

“Exotissimo Angkor Park Full Day Tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2013

Firstly the guide (Navy) we had for this full day tour was fantastic. nothing was too much trouble and he was very very knowledgable. Also knew the best angles for photographs without 100's of tourists in them, very difficult to do in an attraction so popular.
We have been waiting a long time to see Angkor and we were not disappointed. If you every get the opportunity to travel here take it. We had only one day and visited the more popular temples but would love to have had the time to see some of the lesser one and those outside the general park area. Loved it.

“What an amazing area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013

Although not all temples are here, almost all of them are and within easy distance. A new Tourist Centre is about to be opened in 2013, and only electric vehicles will be allowed, but that creates a problem for all the existing tuk tukk drives sadly.

“Even better with a top guide”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

Angkor Archaeological Park is exceptional and I don't need to add to other comments on TripAdvisor. This is a simply magnificent site and you need at least days to explore Angkor Thom, Angkor Wat and the rest. You can and should go on a guided tour or hire a guide to take you round, as that enables you to absorb so much more and to visit particular temples or carvings that you might otherwise miss. But the quality of the guides is mixed, even though they are licensed by the Cambodian Park authority. On our first morning we had a guide who could not engage adequately in the history, architecture and archaeology, and my wife, having read Lonely Planet, knew more than he did. We asked our hotel for a top guide, and for the next day and a half we had a magical, brilliant and informative experience. This is a fascinating man, just over 30 years old whose mother is Chinese and whose father (a Cambodian teacher who escaped death under Pol Pot) sent him away from his village to escape the Civil War; he became a Buddhist monk from 10 to 15 years old and was then accepted at an American sponsored orphanage in Phnom Penh. He is academically smart and knowledgeable, keeps up with the latest research, and speaks very good English. His name is Lach Kim Chhen, but everyone knows him as Kim. He has just set up a new business with some colleagues called Angkorpura Tour Guide Team, with a website under that name that is just going live and can be accessed through Google. Alternatively, you can email him at kim_angkortour@yahoo.com. I don't normally recommend particular guides or their businesses, but here the exception proves the rule. Kim will add enormously to the curious visitor's enjoyment of Siem Reap. I strongly recommend him.
