My wife and I stayed here for four nights having booked through late rooms at a rate of $25 without breakfast a night for a standard room.
On our arrival we were upgraded without cost to a suite. The hotel seemed to be quiet that day. The suite was excellent and great value (obviously).
The hotel arranged a tuk-tuk driver (Hong) to take us to Angkor Temples.
We had the breakfast a few mornings and it was perfectly fine.
We arranged for the hotel to do our laundry twice and on the first occassion items went missing that later turned up. On the 2nd occassion they lost a shirt of mine (albeit a fairly old one).
After a bit of haggling we wern't charged for breakfasts or any laundry (a fair deal) and the owner, Peter, even offered to take my address to forward the shirt if it turned up.
Good clean hotel, about 10-15 min walk from main congregation of bars/restaurants

We stayed here for 5 days in December after having found it through Trip Advisor. I wasnt sure what to expect for $20 per night but what we got far exceeded what we paid. The hotel and rooms were clean, well maintained and close to the main street. Our first nights sleep was interrupted by a rather annoying rooster crowing ...but the staff readily changed our room the next morning without pause. Breakfast had limited options but was adequate for our needs.. and at only $2.50, it was quite the bargain.

The front staff answered all our touristy questions and arrange a wonderful driver for us - "TukTuk-Sam". He showed us all the temple sites and even took requests for a few off the beaten path. He was courteous, professional and was kind enough to keep a cooler of cold water for the long and hot days.

This place was an all around awesome experience!

The Angkor Pearl and Sam are highly recommended!!

My husband and I stayed at the Angkor Pearl (after reading reviews on TA) for three nights this month. We really enjoyed the value of the hotel, in particular, and the minimal issues we had were overcome by that $20/night price tag! The managers were great at helping us set up our Angkor tour, as well as bus to Phnom Penh. They were helpful when we found a huge bug in our room (I mean HUGE!), and were available night and day.
Breakfast is included, but only so-so, the Khmer dishes are far superior to the Western ones.
Property is within walking distance of main drag, but about a 10 minute walk - tuk-tuks for $1.

The most memorable bit of our stay was Sam the driver, who collected us in his ultra-chic tuk tuk (admired by all the other tuk tuk drivers we met) from the airport, and also ended up being our tour driver for the duration of our stay. Be sure to ask for him if you're visiting Siem Reap. The hotel itself was really nice and quiet, in a good location not too far from the night markets and restaurants, and although there was no restaurant (and the bar always seemed empty), breakfast was really nice. We stayed in the pearl suite, which was spacious and very comfortable. The only problem was that it was on the 5th (and top) floor, which involved walking up 10 flights of stairs! There is no lift in the hotel, which may be normal in Siem Reap, but be aware that the stairs are quite steep, and there was no phone or information in our room so if you needed anything from reception, you needed to walk down to get it! All in all, a nice hotel in a bustling town.

We were really looking forward to stay in this hotel but it turned out to be a disappointment. In September we makes a reservation for a suite through bookin.com. The room price was $25,- without breakfast. Shortly after we found the owner on Facebook and he recommended to cancel the reservation made through Booking.com and book the suite straight with him because then for the same price we also got breakfast.
So we did and shortly after we got a confirmation from the owner that we would have a suite with breakfast.
On the day of arrival I sent the owner a message through Facebook that we would arrive late in the afternoon as we had to come by car from Phnom Penh.
When we arrived and after our driver was already heading back to Phnom Penh reception told us that because we canceled our reservation the suite was not available. I told her about the deal I made with the owner. She was nog convinced so I showed the print out. A manager came to us and told us that for today we got a double room and
possibly tomorrow the suite.
We were tired so we got to the room. It looked alright but how we were treated didn't feel good. Then we found out that our room was next to a bar were the rest of the day loud (wedding)parties were to be held.
I went to reception the chances of getting the promised suite were not big. In the end we decided to move. They even charged us for the half day use of a suite while we were put in a double room :( but according to the staff the difference is not so big anyway :s.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review.

In regards to the suite not being avaiable on the day of arrival we did explain it was going through maintenance and would not be ready till the next day. We are sorry we were not able to accommodate you with a suite but we wanted to make sure your room was ready and comfortable. We would not place you in a room where there are maintenance issues.

As for the wedding party, we also apologize about the noise level as we had no control over it. We complained many times for them to turn down the music, but that is how weddings in Cambodia are. It is part of the culture.

Again we apologize for the incovience during your stay and hope you understand the issues of the suite and noise level were out of our control.

Thank you again for taking time out to write to us. We will continue to work harder and strive on improving every aspect of the hotel so we are able to ensure a wonderful stay with us.

Warm regards,
Management Team
