very friendly staff and large rooms. In the very centre of this town without any noise. The best you can get for $15/night.

When we arrived in Siem Reap I was a bit disappointed with the quality and location of guesthouses. Many of the budget accommodations are characterless, square monstrosities on noisy streets and the rest are more than a little dank and run-down. We found this little gem while walking around finding a better place than the one we got when we arrived. It is tucked in on a side street beside a fairly posh, French-style hotel, and Wat Preah Prom Rath on Street 9. It is quiet but very close to Pub Street and "The Alley", an atmospheric, modern restaurant and bar area tucked into the little alleys of downtown. It's also near the modern, air-conditioned shopping centre and the Old Market, which is all beside the tree-lined river. Everything is within walking distance but we rented bikes for only $2/day to avoid all the tuk-tuk drivers soliciting us everywhere - one followed us down the street for a block before giving up! The room rate is US$15/night for a spacious, clean air conditioned suite with satellite TV. The staff are also very friendly and helpful and there is a decent bar/restaurant on site.
