Description: Popular with French expatriates, Barrio offers a French gastronomique experience in Siem Reap. Situated in a breezy garden courtyard with brightly-colored tablecloths and the calming sound of outdoor fountains, Barrio is perfect for business or pleasure. Indoor seating with air-conditioning (and crystal chandelier) is also available. The menu contains favorites ranging from escargot and caprese salad to seafood and beef carpaccio. Full bar with cocktails and wine selection. Menu is in French but the staff speak English.

Just decided to try Barrio on a whim. Amazing. French onion soup was unbelievable. Had some raw tuna that was fantastic but paled in comparison to my friend's chicken. Bread and what was either homemade or just fantastically presented butter was free flowing. Some kind of amazing pear in chocolate sauce dish. Clearly one of the best places in town. I'm stuffed and couldn't be happier.

Oh! and it's gorgeous, just gorgeous.

As ALL of our wedding anniversaries are celebrated in French Restaurants, and this was our 10th; we decided to "stick to tradition" even though we were in Siem Reap. After conflicting reports from locals as to "the best French restaurant" we settled on Barrios. To our pleasant surprise, the owner actually "was" French; the staff were very professional (kept and eye on us, but not over-attentative); there were plenty of choices on the menu (both traditional and modern French) and the wine selection was good (with French wine available in carafes as well as bottles).
Unlike Pub Street with lots of foot traffic and noise around; Barrios was very peaceful, particularly after a busy day visiting the temples. Sure, the food was more expensive than the average Cambodian meal, but the freshness, the taste and the ambience were all worth that little bit more.... and compared to Australian French restaurants, the price was VERY cheap, for such fabulous food.
We are going back to Siem Reap next year, and we will definitely dine again at Barrios.

Don't come here if you are looking for a fancy, posh restaurant, or expect fluent English speakers. But if you want really good, french food, very attentive service ( but don't mind limited But sufficient English of staff), an amazingly tempting menu, then this is the place to come. Simple but comfortable and spotlessly clean. Beats several "fancy" restaurants we have eaten at in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh that cost 2 or 3 times more.

My favorite is the Roast Chicken!
Go there to have a change during your stay, for more Western tastes

Very nice outdoor setting and friendly staff/management

Can be a it pricey compared to the normal local restaurant, but very affordable for foreigners traveling to South East Asia

Located on Wat Bo Road, 3 minutes from Pub Street
