This hotel was wonderful for us ! the bedroom was amazing ! we had nenuphar and a fountain in the room ! The swimming pool was also fantastic and finally the hotel localisation was perfect, in the middle of the center.

After all the reviews I expected Terrasse des Elephants to be awesome, sad to say that it wasn't. You could here the electricity go on and off all night (the AC not working is not ok when you're in this climate zone!) and the hot water wasn't consistent either. The sheets are paper thin and not soft. The wifi is also very slow and patchy (it works better out on the pool terrace). The room is very charming and the hotel is fine, but i just wanted consistency in water and electricity. I will say the location is great, you can walk to the night markets, pub street, and the old market very easily and it's located only 15 minutes from the airport. If you are ok with foregoing luxury, this place is very affordable and convenient.

Room Tip: We were on the pool terrace level. It was very nice.

Location Location Location. You drive from the airport past the ugly tour group hotels getting closer to the centre of town, and you keep going - one small block back from the river and two small blocks back from the Alley. No issues with noise (low season). We had 2 rooms on Level 2 next to each other. Probably a bit quieter, but the rooms on the pool deck (Lvl 3) and above (Lvl 4) look great with city views). Pool is stunning. Staff were friendly and effective. Included breakfast and restaurant staff - great. The quaint "traditional" room decorations were a real hit with our kids. Their own temple, bridge and Lilly pond in their room. Only negative was one Lvl 2 room had a bit of a musty smell. Put the kids in there - problem solved.

We chose this hotel having been attracted by the reviews and the pictures of the rooms shown on the hotel website, nothing to do with the reality. The Khmer style rooms (we have changed room after the first night) were much smaller, with old furniture and, most important, very dark and with a bad smell coming from the straw covering the ceeiling.
In spite of that, that resulted in an uncomfortable stay, the hotel has a beautiful pool on the roof and a very good restaurant. My suggestion however is to go to some other place to sleep, anyway.

The staff could not have been more helpful especially the concierges. We stayed for two nights.
The rooms and housekeeping excellent. The breakfasts offered more choices than most of the other 5 star hotels we had stayed at. The pool area was so beautiful. We would definitely recommend and stay here again.
