Though we knew about it beforehand we still got caught up in the Poipet bus scam and were dropped in a layby outside of Siem Reap at 9pm. Luckily a couple we met had already booked Green Park Village.
After a quick phonecall they came and picked us up with their free mini-bus service (they also give you free rides into siem reap town even at night and pick you up when you like!) The guesthouse was clean with a good atmosphere, the staff were really helpful and can sort reasonably priced tours of angkor wat/buses to phnom penh etc.
The restaurant is very homely and reasonably priced with good food and beer virtually the same price as in shops. Breakfast is also included (selection of everything from baguette with butter and jam to a nice big chicken and cheese sandwich)
We paid $8 a night for a really big ensuite room with a fan and tv, with the breakfast and free internet.
Though it looks far from the old market area of siem reap its only a 10-15min walk - though with the mini-bus you never need to do it, and the buses and angkor tours collect you straight from the guesthouse.
Overall very highly recommended!More
