We spent 5 days in Siem Reap, and this dinner was by far the worst (my wife commented that this was a wasted meal). This is a tourist trap that happens to be off the beaten path (not near pub street). We had the beef Lok Lak, morning glory, and steamed catfish. Compared to Khmer Kitchen, the food here is far inferior, and as far as I can tell, not authentic. If you think Chinese food is sweet and sour pork and fried egg rolls, this place is the Cambodian equivalent for you. Pretty much all the clientele are tourists, and Tany is basically trying to cater to them/us. The prices are high - almost 2x Khemer Kitchen prices. If you try to pay with Cambodian Riels, they will try to shaft you with 5000 Riel to 1 USD exchange rate. Keep in mind that we got 3800 Riels/USD at the airport.
I agree with one of the other reviews regarding the beef lok lak. It is very tough on the teeth - it is pretty close to shoe leather. It is amazing that you can give a restaurant with food like this 5 stars. The morning glory was tough as well - pretty much all stems. The steamed catfish as ok.
The "bathroom" is a bit scary. They have urinals in the hallway - where both men and women can simply walk by on their way to the toilet. They do have a toilet in a room, but it is scary - the walls were covered with ants.

The restaurant is at the dark street a bit off the central streets. I followed the recommendation in the internet and asked a tuk-tuk to bring me there.
Thatched roof, ventilator and gecko sounds in the corners.
Lok-Lak & pepper sauce was absolutely delicious although beef is a bit hard to my teeth.
The service was excellent and very personalized - probably because I was alone in the restaurant. Definitely worth a try for lovers of authentic khmer food.

We visited this restaurant twice as it was recommended by our friend and tuk tuk driver. It was really good food. We had the Khmer set menu which included the following - Khmer sour soup with coconut milk, Tomato Salad with Lobster, Fried spring rolls, Amok -which we had tried before at other restaurants but didn't overly care for but this was excellent; fried long eggplant with beef and for desert we had coconut milk and banana.
The setting was very traditional, palm leaf thatched roof with the option of either a table or traditional Khmer dining area.
Our host 'Rattana' provided excellent service and knowledge of the food. I would definitely go again and recommended this to anyone.

We visited this restaurant twice during a recent visit to Siem Reap. It was recommended by our tuk-tuk driver (yep, I know - but I didn't see any money changing hands). The ambience was great, the staff were more than attentive, the beer was cold and the food was splendid - not to mention plentiful. I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant. You may need to ask your driver to take you there and collect you, as the place is a little off the beaten track (i.e. not located in the mad Pub Street strip). Will go back there again. A set menu of 2 courses will set you back a whole US$9, or you can order mains for around $5. Website address and testimonial available on request.
