We chose the hotel for its 5-Star rating and the positive reviews. We were not disappointed. The hotel is situated half way between the airport and Siem Reap downtown. The complementary pickup service was excellent. Compared with the other hotels I might not offer a 5-star rating. It is not a luxury class hotel. That said, the rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. The lobby is grand and the facilities are adequate. The pool is good but we were here at a time where there were not many pool guests (mostly Angkor Wat visitors). The breakfast was not Western style. Apart from the egg station it was barely a continental selection. The buffet catered more to its Asian guests.
The Spa visit was enjoyable. Good value for the pricing. Staff was great, but reception was not able to discuss many options and concerns regarding my wife's face mask. Limited English. The massage therapists were great.
One thing we did not like was the ultra firm mattress. Staff reacted quickly to add a layer, but don't expect a cushy bed.
Altogether the value of the hotel was outstanding. However, be aware that there is construction noise for the next months as they add on a section to the hotel.More
