Description: Viroth’s Restaurant; the perfect place to enjoy traditional Khmer cuisine in a chic and contemporary setting. The restaurant is owned and operated by Viroth and his family, who are passionate about food and hospitality. It has been open for 12 years, and is widely known throughout Siem Reap for serving some of the best food in town.

The restaurant is across the river from the main part of town but still within walking distance. We had no problem getting a table when we arrived. It is a pretty big restaurant with a lot of outdoor sitting, some covered and some open. The overall meal was pretty good Cambodian cuisine present in a modern fashion. The service was prompt and courteous. It is a little more expensive but I think that is a general feeling about Cambodia. It just seems a little more expensive than it should be.

The decor is posh and the food is well presented and served. The food is a kind of fusion style. It's reasonably good but a wee bit overpriced in my book.

This resturant was highly recommended by our local tour guide. A tuk tuk ride from from the centre of town brought us to the simple but elegant Viroth's were attentive staff and great food made for a long evening and the deserts are to die for.

We are staying at the related Viroth's Hotel and weren't sure if taking the recommendation to eat at the restaurant around the corner was a good idea, but another guest had been there and recommended it. So glad she did.

For a total of $27 my wife and I had a fine meal with dessert and drinks in an attractive setting on the quiet side of the river. I had the grilled chicken skewers and she had the roasted chicken with veggies. Both were great, as was the sticky rice with mango dessert.

The restaurant is very pretty and you'll know right away when you enter that the price tag will be steep. (But at least you won't be surprised.) Your spouse will love it!

One side note: the main road is passing right by it, so try to get table as far away from the entrance as possible.
