Description: Sala Baï Hotel & Restaurant School was founded in 2002 by the French NGO Agir pour le Cambodge. The school entirely and exclusively meant for young Cambodians coming from underprivileged families. In 2015, more than 1300 young Cambodians, with a 70% priority to girls, have been trained. They have all found a job within 1 month after their one-year training. A few years later, their average salary goes from $250 to $350 which enables them to reach the emerging Cambodian middle-class. The vocational training taught at Sala Baï is definitely the fastest and most efficient way of fighting poverty and human trafficking. But without your support, nothing would be possible. By coming to our training restaurant, you already make a great difference, with the pleasure to enjoy high-quality food.

“Dining with the heart - a must visit during your trip”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

Great food for a great cause! Wonderful set menus to choose from, we always try one of each! Did you know that Sala Bai is the only free Hotel & Restaurant School for young underprivileged Cambodians that help them get employed in the growing hospitality industry in Siem Reap? We will always be supportive and encourage all our friends to go visit, dine and help.

“Excellent Food”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

Great lunch today at Sala Bai. Food was excellent! Tasted great and phenomenal presentation - Fine dining all the way. There is a set menu of either appetizer, main and dessert for $10 or appetizer/main or main/dessert for $8. Since we had dinner plans, we went with the $8 option of main/dessert. We enjoyed the gnocchi and red fish. Both were divine. Had several of the desserts, and loved the orange tiramisu and ricotta lemon souffle. Had a lovely chat with one of the girls who is the communcations assistant for the restaurant. She explained the students will be graduating from the year long course in just a couple of weeks and the restaurant will be closed for final exams. Overall this is a great concept and they put out some fantastic food! Do not miss!

“Good Scheme for Tourists to beinvolved in”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Located a the paralell road to the main road, this is a great way to give back. The set lunch prices go directly to the charity where its given to train the staff at the restaurant. Decent tasting food, presentation varies (as its done by students). Good atmosphere. Please be patient with the staff as they only trainees...i got my drink after i had my starters, but staff were apologetic and helpful. Worth a visit.
