Reviewed June 6, 2012

Just remember my last vacation in siem reap and encourage myself to write my experienced during staying in shinning angkor hotel. I made the booking via internet and the staff of hotel gave us a really quick response which made us being confident to choose this hotel since it was our 1st trip to this country.
Once check in, they picked us up at the airport by tuk tuk .. it was so amazing. and arrived at the hotel, we received warm welcomed by the staff and they explained to us about the activities that we can do there.
it was so helpful and the room also very clean, good and we are highly recommend this hotel to stay.
Hope one day i can return to this country since i love it xxx

We stayed at the Shining Angkor Boutique Hotel for four nights and found it to be a great place to stay while enjoying Siem Reap and the Angkor temples. The staff were quite friendly and helpful, and there were always hotel run tuk-tuks in front of the hotel whenever we wanted to go anywhere - at great rates - $2 to downtown, or around $20 USD for a driver for the entire day to all the temples.

Included Breakfast was pretty good, although not a buffet, and selections got a little repetitive after the first couple of days.

The hotel had lots of nice decorative wood and art features, and our room was a nice size with good television reception. Only negative was that they removed our comfortable chair from the room during our last day there - we liked that chair!

Overall, great experience and highly recommended.

Room Tip: Order a massage at the hotel massage area - only $7 USD for a great massage!

Very helpful staff and quiet, peaceful retreat a feature for the traveling family. The pool was a great antidote to the heat and humidity after the Small Tour or the Grand Tour to the Angkor Wat temple complex.

No problem booking online, getting picked up at the airport, setting off to the temples or into town. Nice decor and very clean, Shining Angkor is the ideal place to call home when first dipping your toe into the Cambodian experience.

My husband booked this place online before we got to Siem Reap. We all liked this place - me, my husband and my mom. It has the most beautifully carved furniture of all the hotels I have seen. I really enjoyed the smell of the jasmine essential oil they put in our room. The entire hotel is very clean and it always greet us with the wonderful jasmine fragrance when we came back from a exhausting day trip. Western-style breakfast with fresh fruits. The Cambodian dishes we tried out for dinner was great too. The people work there are super friendly.

You can hire a taxi driver, tuk tuk driver or rent a bike from the hotel. It's conveniently located between downtown Siem Reap and Angor Wat. We also liked their swimming pool - it feels good jumping into the pool after a tour from Angor Wat in a hot day.

If you are looking for a family-style, friendly and comfortable place to relax your visit at Siem Reap, I would highly recommend this place.

Room Tip: There are room with balcony too. We didn't stay in those rooms but apparently you can have your...

The place exceeded all our expectations. Everything from the lobby to the balcony is clean, comfortable and beautiful. The bathroom has a bedet, which is a big plus for our group. The beds are majestic and very comfortable - very important during a 4-day trip of walking, hiking, and climbing temples under the scorching heat of the sun. The staff is very accommodating and helpful - especially Pree, our designated tuktuk driver for the whole trip. The most important part is we got all this for a VERY REASONABLE PRICE. I hope this part does not change throughout the years since we are planning to go back and visit other temples that we weren't able to finish.

A world-citizen traveling friend who lives part time in Japan, part time in Michigan and the rest of the time on the road recommended Shining Angkor. Wow, the hotel was better than I anticipated! When I arrived and asked for a balcony room and presto, I had one, no extra charge. I needed a tuk-tuk and driver to take me around the vast archeological site known as Angkor Wat. Immediately, the ever-careful, charming young driver named Jin was available. Room service and the daily breakfast choices made my meal times ever so pleasant. I'm a multi-continent traveller myself and really recommend this hotel for those who like comfort, privacy and a low-key, courteous atmosphere.
Tip: book directly through the hotel's website and the hotel will comp your airport pick up.

Room Tip: I don't enjoy constant air conditioning, so I asked for a balcony room - superb for early mornin...
