“Cool pool great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 8, 2013

We stayed as a family of four. Like the web site says, the pool was a great place to cool off after the heat of the beating sun. The restaurant provides a very tasty selection of Kmer dishes, some with a western touch. The breakfast fried rice, and the omelette, was easiliy the equal of any we tried in Cambodia and Malaysia during a three week holiday. We knew teh eggs were fresh because we saw tehm delivered every day.

So glad Kay C enjoyed our Lemongrass Martini's. They have herbal properties to them ...........you can feel them doing you good!. Helps ease the pain after a hard day at the Temples. Hope to see you again Kay.

In the hustle and bustle of Asia is this tranquil little piece of Heaven. The splashes of pink should have been the first hint of something special but the staff are what make this place. Run by an Australian woman who has such passion and commitment to the local culture and experience. The lime drink on arrival complete with lemongrass swivel stick is a taste I will yearn for ever. The rooms are large, tastefully decked and so reasonably priced. The food deserves a chef hat and a must in a cooking class complete with market tour. The staff are friendly yet professional.
I have recommended The River Garden to friends and family and those who have stayed all rave about this place nearly as much as I.
This is the place to stay when in Siem Reap

I stayed here with a friend last year...

It was really well run, the staff were friendly and we were able to book things to do for the day at the office, the food was great and I loved spending time by the pool after a big day exploring Siem Reap.

Make sure you ask about Enkosa RiverSchool while you're there to volunteer to teach english for a night or two.

I would recommend this place for couples, families or solo travelers.

I have nothing but praise for this wonderful hotel. I stayed there for a month last July and everyday was a delight. I arrived stressed from a hard year at work and was immediately made to feel at home and met nothing but kindness from management and the friendly staff. My room was pleasant and very clean. The breakfast was enormous and served by delightful staff. Most of all I loved the beautiful garden which surrounds the swimming pool. It is a real oasis from the teeming hot and dusty city. Sipping a poolside lemon-grass martini accompanied by the harmonious sound of croaking frogs is an experienced not to be missed.

I am sitting here at the hotel enjoing the last breakfast before moving onto the next vacation destination. There is a variety of delicious homebaked bread, ceraels, fruit and different kinds of egg is being served for my family. The staff is friendly and we really feel welcomed and appreciated by everyone here. Before leaving I feel an urge to say a few words about this splendid family owned hotel.
It has been a joy staying here and I highly reccomend the River Garden Siem Reap to anyone who wish a quiet, well run and high service place to stay.

A wonderful small boutique style hotel which is set back off the street. On arrival from the airport we were welcomed with a cold lime juice (my favourite) and our bags taken to our room. we had also surprisingly been given an upgrade free of charge and had a pool view and balcony which we used many nights to sit on drinking and chatting. The room was clean, lge and bathroom really well presented, cute and clean although the bed a little harder than my liking. Pool was a welcome sight each afternoon for my travelling companion while I got a massage in the poolside hut. The staff are very sweet, willing to help always and so friendly. Sometimes there was a slight language barrier, but as I am in a foreign country, I expect that. They try so hard to understand and accommodate one's needs. We only had breakfast, drinks and snacks at the restaurant but loved its open air feel and guests were able to mingle together and share experiences and tips.Cooks in Tuk Tuks for me was a great experience, loved Saroun our guide. Her knowledge she shared in the markets and being able to help prepare what ended up as our favourite meal in Cambodia , Fish Amok was great. I really enjoyed the experience. I definitely would take a room closer to the pool away from the street, much more tranquil and its a really nice setting at the back...even next door neighbours rooster and chickens making noises :) Really great hotel. Great location just a short $2 tuk tuk ride to centre of town(great sights of everyday life on the ride). Will be back.

Room Tip: Chose room close to pool.

A beautiful arrival amongst the trees with the best arrival drink ever.... an icy cold lemongrass drink after travelling was very refreshing. If you ask, you can be greeted at the airport by a tuk tuk which is a fun introduction to transport in Cambodia. We didnt stay in the traditional Khmer huts here as we were on a budget but my three children stayed in the garden room #18 which was huge and beautifully decorated and filled with musical instruments & books. It was a great pad for teenagers which ours are. Our room was #16 with a very comfortable bed. The pool area was lovely and encircled with a tropical garden and salt water pool. The bar was to the side to have drinks made for you in a short space of time. You have to try the pineapple chilli daquari and you'll never want another cocktail as long as you live! The food was delicious and well presented. For the Aussies, if you are missing vegemite, they have some. There is a gorgeous little puppy called Honey you can pat or she sits on your knee for a cuddle (if you like dogs that is). The only downside which really isnt much is that because of the open kitchen there is a little grease/dust covering things that are for sale surround it. Other than that it was lovely.
