“Don't hesitate, just stay here! Value for money & awesome staff!!”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

We managed to get MotherHome to send a tuk-tuk to pick us up after our bus ride from Phnom Penh, and it was a really welcome sight to have a driver waiting for you at nearly 9pm at the deserted bus station and everything was really pitch black.

At the hotel, it was a really comfortable setting and the staff all welcome you with huge smiles and immediately offered us a seat, cold towels and a welcome drink. The room wasn't exceptionally large but still very comfortable with a nice toilet, and for USD$30 per room for triple sharing, it was really value for money. The beds were cushionny and fluffy, and you would definitely get your good night's sleep.

The receptionist was really good and friendly, and settled our breakfast for the next day as we wanted to go see the sun rise at Angkor Wat. We set off at 4.45am with the breakfast packed and it took only 15-20 mins by tuk tuk to Angkor Wat.

What really impressed me was that all the staff were really friendly, really displaying the 'nothing is too much trouble' attitude I have associated with the Khmer people. When we reached back the hotel with muddy and sandy shoes, we tried to scrape and jump to get rid of the sand at the entrance of the hotel. But the staff kept telling us that it was okay, and we could just proceed indoors and they would clean up after us. It was a wow factor for me as I stayed in other hotels whose staff gave me black faces if my shoes were sandy.

Staying in MotherHome for 3 nights was superb, and it was really the friendliness and cheerfulness of the staff that set it apart. I really looked forward to returning back to the hotel during midday to escape the sweltering heat as the beds were really comfortable.

My ending point, even if you have a higher budget for other hotels, just save that extra money and stay in MotherHome! It is a gem of a hotel in Siem Reap and a true bargain.

Warm hospitality of staff worth mentioning Fanny, Fandy and Sok.

They welcomed us with fruit punch drink and cold towel. Seated us in the lounge while they confirm our booking.

Room is eminently good with free wifi, coffee & tea. It has a safe-box and refrigerator. Bathroom has bathtub and complete with necessities like toothbrush, paste, hair and body lotion.

You may arrange tuk-tuk and taxi in the reception and expect cheap, honest and good service.

Free use of pool to all guesthouse and Inn guests.

Ask anything and they respond quickly. 5-star hotel service for a reasonable price. Highly recommended for laid-back vacation.

Room Tip: Motherhome guesthouse is quieter. Motherhome Inn has swimming pool and near National Road.

We've been here last June and it exceeded my expectations.. It made our stay in Siem reap, worth it..The guesthouse is 5mins away from Old market via tuktuk for $1 only, 15mins if you walk, like we always do :) Kudos to the staff who were courteous and very attentive to our needs and make helpful suggestions in choosing our day tour..Our room was nice and clean..Our stay includes a free breakfast with a lot of varieties to choose from..On our first day, we availed the sunrise tour and the receptionist (forgot to ask his name), gave us a wakeup call and gave us our packed breakfast before we left..Our tuktuk driver, Mr Kha, discussed with us, the route of our temple tour..he was also very accommodating with our little requests..

Overall, our stay was a pleasant one..and if given a chance to come back, will definitely choose Motherhome again and will certainly recommend to other friends who wants to go to Siem Reap..

Just recently, June 16 of this year, me and my husband celebrated our first year anniversary. If there is one thing that we really love to do, it is to travel. Every year, we always make sure that we visit one tourist destination and this year, we decided to go abroad. We both love history and historical places that is why we decided to visit Thailand and Cambodia because these countries are very well known for their heritage, religion and culture. We first landed in Bangkok then we traveled to Cambodia via land. When we crossed the border, we were so anxious because of the unfamiliarity with the place and most importantly, because of the language barrier. At the border, you will be shocked because you will be welcomed by lots of fixers who will skillfully try to fool you by making you believe that they would really help you. They will offer you a van or bus service package from the border to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Since we did not know anything from this country and no one warned us about these schemes, we almost get fooled. The prices that they offered us is really expensive and they really tried to persuade us to accept their offer, but our instincts told us to ask other people from the immigration. We were so lucky that we did not get into their propaganda. Anyhow, when we were finally in Siem Reap, we then again faced another fixer: we met a ''tuk-tuk'' driver who offered to help us find a hotel for our stay. Since we thought that he is nice, we accepted his offer then he brought us in the Prum Bayon Hotel. He told us that he will bring us to a very nice and affordable hotel, but we need to pay him for the ride.We did not realize that the payment he asked from us is too expensive for a tuk tuk ride because the average amount of fare is only 1 dollar. The hotel rate is 60 dollars per night and we know that is quite high compared to the other hotels but since it is late already, we just decided to stay at least one day on the said hotel. During our stay, our experience in the hotel is not so satisfying. So the next day, we tried to find another hotel and we checked this site, the TripAdvisor. We transferred to MotherHome Inn Guest House since the review says that this hotel is superb. I decided to post a review regarding this hotel because it deserves a recognition. I do not usually post our travel experience in any kind of blogs/site, but I just want to commend this hotel for their excellent service. Our not so good impression about Cambodia because of our bad experiences during our first day were totally changed because of this inn. We traveled a lot, payed expensive rates and packages, stayed in very cozy and nice hotels but what we experienced here in MotherHome Inn is really amazing. It is not only about the guesthouse, the room, or the ambiance--but what is really remarkable are their staffs. Special mention to FANDY and CHANNY, the two hotel staffs who assisted us all throughout the length of our stay. These hotel staffs are so nice, helpful, and very courteous. They are very efficient! Fandy even offered to buy our bus ticket without even asking for any additional tip or money. He is so kind and wonderful. Aside from that, the hotel is very clean. Not too big, not too small with all the amenities that we need. Every time we need something, the staff will attend to us immediately. And what is really fantastic about this hotel? Their hotel rate is very cheap, but their service is really excellent! If I am going to Cambodia for the second time, I will definitely choose to stay in this hotel again. Like their hotel's name: MotherHome Inn (MotherHome Guesthouse) it really feel like being home while staying in this very very very superb hotel :)

Hope this review will help other travelers like us, because this site is definitely a big help for me and my husband. Thank you to this site because we were able to have a great vacation :)

We stayed for superb two nights in motherhome guesthouse and yes, we made the right choice. Like how it's called, you feel like you're taken cared of by your mother. They just know everything you need. The staff- Sok, Vesna, Fendy and our tuktuk driver Mr. Nieng ( check spelling) are so helpful, courteous and alert to cater our needs and answer our questions.
We even left some of our luggage in the hotel when we left for Vietnam and the same was free of charge. When we got back after four days, they upgraded us to their more expensive hotel, the mother inn, with no additional cost! That's simply amazing! U get value for your money by staying at motherhome!

I went to MotherHome Guesthouse for 2 nights and ended up staying 6. From the time you walk in the door you feel so at home. The service is amazing, front reception guys are so helpful and friendly, could not fault the place. My room was great, beds comfy and the room was immaculate. The food is great. There a bicycles to use for free, I didn't use one, but believe they were good. Tuk Tuk service right at the door, and if you needed anything the guys at reception would organise tours or trips etc. All in all I would have to say MotherHome Guesthouse would have the best Guest house I have stayed at in all my travels. So would highly recommend it. The Guesthouse is about a 15 min walk to the main area, pub street and markets, otherwise a $1 Tuk Tuk ride.

Room Tip: I got a room right up the top 4th floor in the corner, it was big room.
