“Oasis of tranquility”
Reviewed November 30, 2013

We stayed for four nights after a day of touring it was always relaxing to return to swim in the pool and relax. Great villas we appreciated the flowers , chocolates with the turn down service and all wonderful cheerful staff.
Excellant resturaunt no reason to go any where else , great kitchen and menu and service.
Check out their selection of body & hand cream lotions made locally , great gifts.
Do go on the morning sunrise bicycle ride and cycle throu the villages.
If you want to truly avoid the crowds go to Koh Ker temple complexes(120 k away & pick up Beng Mealea on the way back a memorable trip.

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a fantastic time. Staying in our own villa was nice and made the trip more unique (than staying in a large boring hotel). The hotel isn't in town (less than 10 min ride away) but I felt that it added to the charm to be in a more rural area that was like a private oasis. $5 will get youa car ride to town and back and couldn't have been more convenient. They actually wait in town for you and drive you back to the hotel when you are ready. The hotel itself is very private and safe, and the facilities were awesome. Had a great time at the pool and enjoying cocktails at the bar. The breakfast was also very good and had a variety. Actually all the food at the hotel was top notch and really good. We actually preferred to eat here rather than in town.

We used the spa facilities 3 out of the 5 days and they were some of the best spa treatments I've had. I could definately recommend you get a few treatments if you can - and the prices are very very reasonable.

Lastly, the staff at the hotel were amazing - very friendly and trustworthy, and they knew all our names including our baby daughter. We also used their babysitting service one night, and the lady was super nice and trustworthy. For $5 an hour, it was perfect to allow my husband and I to enjoy dinner and a massage at the spa. I maybe wouldn't trust babysitting services at larger hotel that have too many staff that you didn't know, but here it felt right.

The only downside was that for a few evenings (6-11pm), there was loud disco music going on by the neighbours which disrupted the tranquility of the place. It was annoying (especially with a small child), but they were however nice enough to give us complimentary massages to make up for it which was appreciated (that they acknowledged the issue). They say the music happens when there are celebrations so it will to plan it you will get this noise.

I would definately recommend staying here if going to Siem Reap, and we hope to come back again too. Thank you to all the staff for making it so enjoyable.

Room Tip: The villa rooms are great.

My friend and I stayed here for five days and didn't want to leave. We were so well looked after with beautiful food, friendly and helpful staff, great tours and lovely villas. It is also wonderful how they are helping the local community.

This gem is nothing short of spectacular! Our family including two children aged six and eight stayed here for six nights in July. The kids were well received as the staff were outstanding. Many of the staff knew our names and we really appreciated that. Staff are always smiling. We stayed in a poolside villa with outdoor shower which we all enjoyed. It was great to come back to such an oasis after visiting sites in the heat. Food was very enjoyable. We took advantage of the free massage on offer at the time and my wife and I regretted we only went once. A note, around the pool is much more green than as shown in the official photos. Plants have taken off which gives the place a much more tropical feel.

I have nothing but praise for this place. We hope to return one day as it was so memorable. Do yourself a favour. Go ahead and book now.

Thanks to all at Sojourn. It was our favourite hotel on a six week trip.

Two days before arriving in Siem Reap I received notice that the hotel I had booked had been flooded and forced to close for repairs. The hotel was kind enough to contact Sojourn Boutique Villas and arrange for my wife and I to stay there. The Villas had a driver pick us up at the airport and take us to the hotel located in a local village just outside of Siem Reap. Wow. What a find. Quiet beautiful location, great room, good food and wonderful pool, but more impressive was the staff. Within an hour everyone there new our names and went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. We went in to town to see pub street. The Villas arranged a tuk-tuk driver at a cost of $3 who took us into town and waited for us. Two hours later he was there to take us back. Wonderful place, wonderful people

I don't normally write reviews but this little treasure deserves it. It's the cutest little group of villas in a jungle setting in a rural village. Local tuk tuks take you to town which is just 10 mins away. You have the best of both worlds: peace and tranquility in the day and the hustle bustle of the small city at night. Massages are only $22 an hour so this is a must. No rip offs here. Fab food and lovely staff. Free wifi. What more could you want....oh lovely wine at great prices too. We should keep it a secret really. Please look after this lovely place til we can come back! P.s. Check out Charlie's rock bar in town. Hard Rock Cafe coming soon.

This small and charming boutique hotel surpassed my expectations! Located about 10 minutes outside the busy city of Siem Reap, it is a true oasis to return to after temple touring or shopping in the many markets that are close by. Our package included airport transfers and a scrumptious breakfast daily. We had a villa next to the pool that was spacious and immaculately clean. Fresh orchids were a part of our decor. The restaurant was so good and the prices unbelievably inexpensive! Fruity cocktails were available at the swim up pool bar or delivered cheerfully poolside or to your villa. Spa services are available and very reasonable! The owners here (wish I had meta you!), are contributors to the well-being of the villagers, many of whom are employed by the hotel. Take the village "Walk and Talk" tour to experience and learn about village life. Our most memorable experience was probably the cooking class. What fun to be able to create some authentic Khmer Cuisine! The class was very (!) well organized and taught by some of the hotel staff. Speaking of staff, as a US travel agent, I have stayed in many properties, in many countries, in my 28 years in the business. I would rank The Sojourn right up there with some 5 stars, I've visited! Congratulations to the owners! I look forward to returning. Special thanks to SK and Sophia! You made us feel welcome and at home, as did everyone else!
