From the moment I was welcomed at this resort/hotel I could feel I was somewhere special. The dedication to personalized, warm first-class service was evident. The staff immediately assisted us with our sightseeing plans for Ankor over the coming days and arranged a guide and driver. Nothing was too much trouble and this atmosphere permeated the entire staff. It was also an artistic and well-situated resort just over the river. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Siem Reap!

Just returned from trip to Cambodia, finishing with five days at the Golden Banana. It's practically perfect in every way. They arranged a tuk tuk to pick us up from the bus station, welcomed us with a chilled glass of lime tea, gave us the rundown on temple visits etc, and then showed us our room - which was so amazing, I nearly cried. Spent most mornings out and about, and then the hot part of the day around or in the lovely pool. The staff are really friendly and can't do enough for you. The cocktails are far too good. The area is v quiet, but you're a 5-minute walk from the town. Don't know what else to say. Just a great, great hotel

We had a great stay here. The staff were welcoming right from the start - to us as a family of 4 with 2 young girls (ages 7 and 8). Though gay-friendly, we didn't feel awkward that we weren't gay, if you see what I mean! The rooms and hotel are beautiful and very stylish - someone obviously has great design sense (Dirk?).
Pool - gorgeous. Especially after a morning at the temples. The girls loved the fruit shakes (banana and mango) by the pool. I loved the lemon tea. Access to town - very easy either walking or via tuk tuk. The staff arranged for us to have a driver (tuktuk one day, car on another day when we ventured further) who was great. We shared a twin room as there were no villas available. The room was large enough for us all.

Stayed 4 nights for Angor Wat trip.
The great- we were at the villa suite - We arrived at 10pm and our prearranged hotel driver picked us up and after 20 minutes I was relaxing in my OWN outdoor tub on the roofdeck looking out at the stars! The rooms are far superior to a three star resort and if the resort was on the beach in Phuket it would be five stars- The rooms are simple and modern with quirky paintings. The beds are platform and firm (I prefer this) and meticulously clean rooms. The staff are just as kind and friendly as can be and will arange anything you want.
The pool area is a MUST this time of year, could use a few more umbrellas for the "white folks" as the cushions are brown. The bar area is just a few feet from the pool and the staff eager to give you anything. There are various resting areas including swings and futon style cushions as well.
The location cannot be beat- while a walk over a bridge from the city center (or a 1 dollar tuk tuk, the quiet is welcome- we had no noise issues- although we were dead tired after the walking aroudn the temples
The guests quite international and discriminating clients looking for a Cambodian "feel" with proper services. They are also "gay" friendly if this is an issue- it was not for us, but noted in other reviews
The resort arranged drivers, guides, classes and everythign we needed including places to eat, shop etc. COuld not have been easier. We have stayed at MANY 5 star resorts throughout the world and this resort could not be beat for a "Low-key" five star treatment
Do NOT stay near the airport unless you want to be embraced by Asian tour companies and buses galore- my least favorite type or packaged resort-
Everyone also spoke excellent english

Won't go on... simply superb and hope it stays small and friendly. Staff absolutely delightful and rooms incredible. Super gay-friendly and welcoming and really happy to chat to you about anything. Five star service without the pretense or price tag- can't wait to return. Thank you!
