Big house with style

room starting at US$ 5-6 (single): big, towel, attached bathroom / cold or hot shower, desk, free wifi, power outlets (4+2bathroom), top fan, outside window+curtains, tv, soap+toothbrush+toilet paper, laundry+ironing 1.5$/kg, checkout noon
restaurant: 2-3$ dish, 5$ menu
tours available to angkor, tonle sap, shadow theater, apsara dance, ...
and a lot of help with Marion and Nancy.

The room is cleaned every day which is kind of exceptional at this price level.
Except the fact it's clean and cheap, services and all informations are easily and readily available here which is quiet a comfort.

The lovely guest house is, as the name say, lovely : cute, in a calm area, a little bit far from pub street but not too much (still possible to go by walking).
The rooms are big, clean, cleaned everyday, with TV and attached bathroom for a very good price.

The only big problem for me was the fact that the guesthouse was COMPLETELY empty :
No other tourists : even if they have a good place to hang out outside it is quite useless when you are alone..
The staff was often not here or not available :when i arrived I wanted to eat something but nobody was available to give me any food (i stayed 1 hour, waiting for somebody to come back before i decided eat somewhere else). Same in the morning when i wanted to go early to angkor : only the tuk tuk was awake so I had to find (at 5h30 in the morning...) another guesthouse to grab food for the day.

Hopefully the tuk tuk was good and helpfull and I had good times with him in Angkor !

I think lovely guesthouse is probably an excellent place for people travelling together as couple or friends but not for solo travellers (or at least not during the low season) if you want to meet people.

We stayed for a week in Siem reap at Lovely GH.

I would put 3.5 but this option is not available.

Rooms are cleaned everyday and beds are comfortable. GH is decorated with style.

Price is competitive for Siem Reap.

However you can hear almost all what other people are doing in the opposite room (old lady turning on tv at 3 am, drunk french guys bringing hookers at 2 am, cambodian family waking up at 5 am with loud TV...).

The problem is that the cambodian manager was off during half of our stay and the french owner wasn't able to manage properly the GH by herself. For example they were proposing the services of a tuk tuk for Angkor temples but she couldn't organize it at all.

When manager came back, everything went fine and smoothly. We highly appreciated his help and his kindness. He knows what is doing, and is a real pro.

Location is ok (around 15min by walk from the old market)

The rooms are clean and spacious. The owners give you precious advice to visit the temples...We really appreciate. The tuk-tuk driver came to pick us up at the airport and drove us everywhere during 3 days, he was very nice and smiley.
They can serve you some food provided a cook is here (simple but good)

Hey guys,
i have been to siem reap for 4 nights. And i can assure you it is a good place to stay.
my rating may look "too much" but honestly its the feeling i got and still have.
i would definately recommend this place.
the owners are french. They are very nice and friendly, and are pleased to help you out, whenever with the room or with organizing your trip around the area (not only angkor !). they know a lot. they transmit their own experiences and the experiences people shared with them.
for example, wen i ask a booking for the period, they told me by email that it was not sure i will get a room but they they would pick me up at the airport and would help me to find a room somewhere else if their guesthouse is full.
I have been travelling quite often in south east asia, and it was the first time i had such a big room (no kidding), 2 single beds for me only, one tv, a desk, a bathroom very very clean ! for every room u got the choice between hot/cold water, fan/ac ! thats pretty convenient, the first night u can try to sleep with the fan only, if doesnt work u add the ac, no need to change room.
the service is good quality from all the staff, they really try to do their best and if you re friendly and smiling there is no reason that i wouldnt work !
anyway, they can help you to find some guides and tuk tuk drivers, and bus tickets (maybe boat ticket too).
there is wifi there, can use your laptop, or use the laptop of the guesthouse.
the location is a little away from downtown, and the happening nightlife area, u can get there within 1à 15 minutes by walk, but where the guesthouse is it s very peaceful, calm and u got the rest you need !!
you can get more informations on the website like the rates
http://visitangkor.net/lovely.html
( i took the room at 6$ and it was more than enough ! good value! )

The lovely guesthouse is clean, pleasant and well located.
Nancy and Marion give great advices for the visit of the temples and make people talk to each other so that the atmosphere is very pleasant.
Ask them if Sokun is available for cooking lessons, and if so do not hesitate to try! she's a great teacher and person.

We happened upon this Guesthouse off a dirt road. It's well-located but peaceful and
quiet. And cheap. (About $20. for a double.) The place is far from fancy but it's clean, the rooms are spacious enough, and the air-conditioning worked fine. The hosts are absolutely sweet and charming and helpful.
I loved the friendly shaded courtyard with its hammocks and I felt utterly at home. Highly recommended for those who value people-contact over luxury.
